Hello fellow Skyline Owners and members

i have R32 GTR , built forged motor , stock rebuilt turbos with steel wheels , turbos back exhaust , cooler piping n pod filters. car hopefully should be reliable having changed most seals gaskets and vitals such as oil pump water pump radiator. didnt change engine wiring loom =[

car runs stock ecu, afms , fuel pump rail injectors and regulator ... so its fairly stock as a rock 233kw atw @ 14psi -_- at the time of dyno run =/

not looking for turbo upgrades or pfc the car as yet , but working it up slowly whilst still keeping it drivable most of the time ....

thinking of putting a bosch 040 fuel pump -> i understand it will greatly improve overall system reliability/calability but will it gain power? and do i need a fuel regulator or injectors at the same time .... not as yet i think ? being so stocky

car also has boost tap -_- currently connected turbo side, where both wastegate signals turn to 1 line and go around the back or head .. is there a better position to put this?

heard there is a better way to hookup the boost tap ... and also removing the 'boost solenoid' ( mounted on a bracket behind factory battery ) apprently builds boost most efficently ???

thanks yoh

fuel pump will add 0rwkw

why would it add power?

air and fuel make power, not much how much a pump can flow

change the air/fuel ratio, youll make power

ie tune will make more power

larger turbochargers will make more power

fuel pump is good insurance policy

and youll need it later on when you change turbochargers

std fuel reg is fine, dont change it

14psi with boost tap? remove restrictor from boost line and it'll run 15psi without anything else.

stock pump, injectors and fpr are good for upto 290rwkw.

what other mods have you got, ie exhaust, cam gears etc

there is plenty that can be done before the comp that will make a GTR alot more fun to drive

Its crying out for an ECU+tune. Nistune would be the best option. Dont bother with anything else until that's done.

If you want to go fuel pump, nismo or sard drop ins are the nicest but not the cheapest. If you're strapped for cash just enjoy the car as is.

so fuel pump is just for reassurance ... was thinking my pump might lack pressure at high rpm being so old =/ ??

any1 know about removing the boost solenoid ? apprently putting boost tap in place ??

theres a blitz access ecu 4 sale ..... terrible idea or ?? drove a gtr with this ecu , stock turbos, big cooler not bad =/

thanks dudes!

Fuel pump will add no more power, i've got walbro pumps in my GTR. they're smaller than the bosch ones and are good for 350rwkw

std fuel reg doesnt need changing ever! i've got mine still running 1000cc injectors with twin fuel pumps and e85. i dont understand why people get FPR's

IMO here is what you should do if you haven't done already

1. 3in exhaust at minimum, also look at upgrading front pipe

2. K&N air filter for airbox or pods

3. remove boost restrictor to run 14-15psi

this should get you up to 250kw

4. Upgrade ECU (Nistune is good value and i'm running it in my car)

this should get you 250-280kw

5. upgrade injectors to 660cc or more & fuel pump

with a tune you should be able to get around 300kw

at this level you'll be around the max of your turbos, you could choose to push them hard with AFM's but it gets pretty $$$ either Nismo's or Z32's

my car has apexi front pipes and 3 1/2 inch exhaust , apexi twin air filters powersomething i think its called.

boost restrictor is located where ? is that the boost solenoid located between battery and shocker tower? what do i do with both vacuum signals?

yeah fuel pump is not needed unless there is a problem with the one you have.

and if you do want to change it, get a nismo. much easier to install and very good pump.

then next step is power FC or nistune. both are excellent options and will really bring the car alive. when getting the nistune or power FC tune done, take the opportunity and get some adjustable cam gears fitted and have them adjusted too on the dyno (in conjunction with the ecu tune). forget the blitz access ecu. waste of time. they are pre-set for certain mods and cannot be changed. it may not even suit your cars state of tune at all.

thanks for advice

someplace is asking 320 for nis-tune board fitted ... how much will tuning cost me =/ ?? ( sorry if this is silly Q ) and where is the best place to take it in melbourne ?

pretty sure i will change fuel pump for peace of mind along, fuel filter and injector reco/clean wont go astray :) bosch 040 ? ( intank pump but pretty sure some bracket or somethings gota be made up for it right ? )

afew of u guys said cam gears should be put it ... ( hope my harmonic balancer comes off easy ) any1 have issues with cam adjustable cam gears that arnt HKS and arnt 200million bucks? some dude on northside sold some fair cheap, had them on his gtrs ... $100 or so =/

cheers dudes!

envy imports in sydney make their own cam gears. they use the outer gear of standard gears (very strong and doesn't wear) and add an adjustable alloy inner plate with 5 bolts. very good set-up and quite cheap. otherwise tomei are good and trust are good too. whatever you get, make sure they are done up tight when tuning is finished.

if you want intake fuel pump, get a nismo pump. a bit more expensive than a bosch but are 100% direct fit. even someone with the most basic mechanical experience could fit one DIY with basic tools.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
