Dan, I have been thinking about what you said about informing the cops from a couple of days ago. I wanted to weigh the risks and make my own mind up.

I do think based on the numbers that me informing police would be beneficial. at first I thought we were just having a big sau crowd which would be easy to control and identify people, but with multiple clubs that I have no information about other then number of members attending, it would seem appropriate

I will do this shorty.

it was just a thought, and i like you, see advantages and disadvantages for either approach... it's hard to know which way to go'

i was thinking of perhaps letting Graeme know, might be a better way to pass the message along

it's a tough call that's for sure

Im out...my car is poo and drives accordingly, much to the liking of vic pol...besides got premiere tickets in gold class....I think I'm getting old...cbfed with the car anymore LOL

Is it really gonna get to the point where we are taking a chance with the Police?

Notifying them can possibly come out with a worse outcome. I'm pretty sure they know almost all imports have some sort of defectable mod to them.

I dont wanna be the first defected M35 Stagea in Aus lol.( i dont think i am, but Im sure they'll find something if they really wanted)

I mean the last cruise that everyone got EPA'd, didnt the Popo say something about not getting EPA'd if "you all clear out"?

If im taking a chance, maybe I'm out..

my sentiments exactly

Out of the 2 times that I've been on a cruise with a stagea and out of the 2 times that all the skylines were pulled over in a group, the stagea gets away every single time lol

third time(un)lucky?

I'm out of this cruise+1 passenger. I think its WAY too big to go un-noticed.. i'm simply not taking the chance!

But goodluck to everyone, including the organisers!

Everyone is driving at their own risk. It's up to you whether you go in your car, someone elses or not at all. Obviously there is the chance that you will get done.

Personally I'm glad I'm have the ute as I can just slink away and pretend I don't know you guys :whistling: Just kidding :P

Ok, how about, before I decide to inform police, we go over the rough advantages vs cons

adv

-----

Could be seen as a mature approach and we tell them anyone acting inappropriately will have their number plate written down,

it ends up being a good night and everyone enjoys themselves

con

-----

If they didn't know the event was on they now would, they could still choose to give out defects

the destination - they could choose to place police at the drive-ins

dont inform them, get done anyway... what to do?

any others?

Hehe don't be such a pussy Aaron :P They are probably reading this and laughing.

As for notifications I say just let it run, if the cops show up then so be it.

ah we'll see what mood im in on the night..

i dont wanna drive an hour to coburg just to get defected lol..

on the other hand, i drive a car that looks like the new volvo, like chaos says, i could probably just drive straight past and pretend not to know you hahaha

I'm sure with revenue in their minds they would just rock up and start dishing out defects.

weighing it up;

how much would they get from the Number plates you provide - based on the fact they cant do anything anyway without witnessing and having physical proof

or

being there and legally being able to hand a fine out.

giving them number plates doesnt give them a right to hand out a fine..

Im not having a go, I can see that your trying to help the Sau members but yeh..just a thought

    • I thought that might be the case, thats what I'll start saving for. Thanks for the info
    • Ps i found the below forum and it seems to be the same scenario Im dealing with. Going to check my ECU coolant temp wire tomorrow    From NICOclub forum: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:23 am I am completely lost on this. Car ran perfectly fine when I parked it at the end of the year. I took the engine out and painted the engine bay, and put a fuel cell with an inline walbro 255 instead of the in tank unit I had last year. After reinstalling everything, the engine floods when the fuel pump primes. if i pull the fuel pump fuse it'll start, and as soon as I put the fuse back in it starts running ridiculously rich. I checked the tps voltage, and its fine. Cleaned the maf as it had some dust from sitting on a shelf all winter, fuel pressure is correct while running, but wont fire until there is less than 5psi in the lines. The fuel lines are run correctly. I have found a few threads with the same problem but no actual explanation of what fixed it, the threads just ended. Any help would be appreciated. I found the problem though. There was a break in one of the ecu coolant temp sensor wires. Once it was repaired it fired right up with no problems. I would have never thought a non working coolant temp sensor would have caused such an issue.
    • Hi sorry late reply I didnt get a chance to take any pics (my mechanics on the other side of the city) but the plugs were fouled from being too rich. I noticed the MAF wasn't genuine, so I replaced it with a genuine green label unit. I also swapped in a different ignitor, but the issue remains. I've narrowed it down a bit now: - If I unplug and reconnect the fuel lines and install fresh spark plugs, the car starts right up and runs perfectly. Took it around the block with no issues - As soon as I shut it off and try to restart, it won't start again - Fuel pressure while cranking is steady around 40 psi, injectors have good spray, return line is clear, and the FPR vacuum is working. It just seems like it's getting flooded after the first start I unplugged coolant sensors to see if its related to ECU flooding but that didnt make a difference. Im thinking its related to this because this issue only started happening after fixing coolant leaks and replacing the bottom part of the stock manifolds coolant pipe. My mechanic took off the inlet to get to get to do these repairs. My mechanics actually just an old mate who's retired now so ill be taking it to a different mechanic who i know has exp with RBs to see if they find anything. If you have any ideas please send em lll give it a try. Ive tried other things like swapping the injectors, fuel rail, different fuel pressure regs, different ignitor, spark plugs, comp test and MAF but the same issue persists.
    • My return flow is custom and puts the return behind the reo, instead of at the bottom. All my core is in the air flow, rather than losing some of it up behind the reo. I realise that the core really acts more as a spiky heatsink than as a constant rate heat exchanger, and that therefore size is important.... but mine fits everything I needed and wanted without having to cut anything, and that's worth something too. And there won't be a hot patch of core up behind the reo after every hit, releasing heat back into the intake air.
