Excuse the French, but holy shit one of the best f**king days of my life, first couple of laps were a bit terrible, then tried to go faster and braked too late for a couple of laps, then felt like it smoothed out toward the end :)

Perfect day for it, and a really good turnout. Definitely should do it again :)

f**king EPIC!!!11!!

I'm hell up for a working bee BBQ on anyones car. I need to learn a heap more about this. But as Jack said earlier on monthly is probably a bit too much for my budget, keen to go along to watch if others are going though.

Pity you couldn't make it mate, really good day :)

Yeah what an epic day! I had heaps of fun just hanging out, got a ride in a couple of cars too which was awesome.

Here are some Pics.

Missed a good track day Toff.... sun was out, air temps were down and there was only half a dozen cars running so everyone had heaps of time on the track.

Good day and it was good to put names to 'screen names'

yeah great day guys, always learning, looking forward to getting out there again with some improvements to my car. well done to those who helped organise it. Good way to spend a sunday, with like minded datsunoholics

annoyed i couldn't get out there can't work out whats going on with my brakes rant.gif

looks like it was a good day, hopefully ill be there for the next one

i got a hoist if you need it in the air one weekend? , what are your brakes doing??

who crashed their car btw! hope the damage isn't too bad

i have a super soft pedal almost to the floor soft & no rear brakes bled them numerous times but still nothing theres no pressure getting to them.

master cylinder fail?

all in all, i had an awesome day! 1st laps out was shit due to mass missfire in high rpm range.. lucky had some new plugs thanks to the awesome jamie , swapped them over.. and it appears he took a photo lol.. turns out 5 plugs were .7 gap.. 1 was 1.1..... lol... car ran beautifully next few runs until i took brodie out, several laps, new pb.. car decided it needed to get super hot (115) and steam itself up in the pits lol.. all in all ive decided.. i need a new diff.. gearbox.. and a bunch of niggly issues fixed before next outing. good to meet people again!

also... jacks car... an animal... i swear he was trying to show off since i was in the car.. with all those spins :-P

not noticable in daily driving mate, if it's soft all the way to the floor nearly , i'd be checking all of your brake lines/calipers for leaks or signs of tampering :) , does it loose fluid at all?

the booster is working fine? you probably can't tell but if that's worn/damaged it can cause similar issues

It was Tim who had a bit of a spin a little in front of me on the hill, brakes locked up and did a little spin :) basically completely pulled up before the tyre wall though, damage was a slightly bent exhaust and a few scratches on the rear left panel :)

My entire family turned up to show support at the exact point this photo was taken and thought I had trashed my car :P

hahah, oh its not very friendly is it! same boat as you mate, got some things that MUST be done before i hit the track again, the beast must be tamed =)

    • Yeah I've had too many issues with knock off's on the BMW's. I don't want to do a job twice or more because the parts are shit.
    • I read this and thought "ah! I will do this scissor jack on the tow point thing!" I just use my floor/low profile/costco jack and lift the car up by the tow hook itself, then slide jack stands under. Never thought about using scissor into floor jack combo :p
    • Well, my new WMI system took much longer to finalize. I actually missed my dyno appointment last Friday and lost my 150$ deposit. I'll be going back in the next week or two.  To sum it up. I only kept the AEM tank from my old setup. I replaced the AEM pump with a higher flow/pressure ProMeth 30GPH pump. I also swapped over to a 6AN low pressure feed line to the pump from the tank. There's also a pressure switch you cannot see on the pump high pressure line.    This is feeding 6x 200CC direct port nozzles and 1x 500CC Pre Throttle body nozzle. All fittings are Swagelok, because well why not. I also have a 300PSI pressure sensor up front.    I now have my Haltech ECU controlling everything. I start my pump with a basic relay at 5PSI and deadhead it. I then PWM a 3000CC methanol Injector to control flow starting around 10psi. The pressure switch in the trunk, along with my tank level are safeties before I ever get to 10PSI, and then I use my pressure sensor upfront as a secondary safety to cut the WMI and corrections in case the injector blocks or a line ruptures.  Wish me luck on the dyno!
    • So, I'm back with bad news. There's no jack long enough on this planet that will reach the front subframe. If by some chance there is, it would weigh 200lb's.  I purchased a long reach jack... The damn thing weighted 120lb's and was massive. Didn't even come close, was still short at least a foot. It was a pain, but I brought it back. Next I decided HA! No problem, I'll get an Extra long reach jack. Well, I couldn't lift the box... It must have weighed 160LB's and luckily there was an open box in store. I took measurement and was still nowhere close.  Sadly I've lost hope and have accepted defeat.
    • Thanks for that tip, niZmO_Man. I think the battery is OK. It's quite a new one, but I'll check. Last time I needed a new battery, everything electronic was fine, except that there wasn't enough current to turn over the starter. I decided to order one of the partial AV system translation CDs from Car Audio Workshop in NZ. That might have some effect, or help me diagnose the date problem. 🤞
