Well guys I am now the proud owner of an 02 NM35 250t RS Four. Just have to wait for it to come from Japan and get complied. It has the factory aero body kit with the roof spoiler. Silver in colour and factory tv.

Now im trying to decide on what size rims to order. Im tossing up between 18" and 19" and sizes from 8.5+30, 9+30, 9.5+35 or 9.5+30. They will all sit pretty much the same within 5mm, as far as I can work out. My main problem is I want to keep the over diam as close as possible to factory and want a reasonable side wall for comfort.

What tyre size are guys running with 18" and 19" rims?

I have a mate "Rex Kelway" that customs makes manifolds, dumps, roll cages and so on, making a dump pipe for it, he will also soon have them for sale. Next on the hit list is the language conversion done and tv tuner to run a set up for the iphone.

No other power mods will be done to it as it will be our daily car.

Congrats on the new car purchase. I look forward to see pics when it arrives. I'd go with 19's given the chance, but only if the cost of ownership doesn't increase too much, afterall you're the one who's going to be buying tyres for it. And don't worry too much about keeping exactly to stock size. They are notoriously optimistic in the speedo department, so a slightly bigger rolling diameter will only help the cause (5-10% would be acceptable IMO) & help with comfort also.

I run 245/45 18's, but if I could find a /50 profile for similar money I'd choose that size.

Looks like another guy making dumps. That will make 4 by my count. I'm not sure the market is that big....

Since you are in SA, you should contact Brad (ducati02) as I think he still has a couple of TV tuners on hand. But don't leave that for too long as there is a small supply now & I won't be getting another shipment for a while.

Cheers, Leon.

Congrats mate  now for the waiting...

I'd be looking 19's personally; 19x9" +30, or 19x9.5 +35 would be my pick. Plenty wide, and most will have clearance for decent brakes if you decide to go that way later.

And as Leon said; standard, the speedo reads almost 10km/h low at 110km/h, so an increase in rolling diameter will definitely help, and it doesn't blunt performance at all.

Thanks guys. I cant wait to drive it!

I just emailed Streeter to price up some rims for me in a 18x9+30 and 19x9+30. These should fit nice and flush, I hope!

Commsman, what width an offset are your 18's? Im also leaning towards running an 18" with a 245/45-18, this should help keep a nice ride comfort once lowered to keep the other half happy confused.gif

Ill contact Brad about grabbing a tuner asap.

I'm running 18x8 +30 with 245/45/18 and the speedo is only out by 2 km/h at 100km. An 18x9 +30 would be spot on for offset. Ride is great with the 245/45/18.

I run 18s on my M35 with the low profile tyres and they look a bit small definately go 19s. Could you get Streeter to put the mags on the car before it leaves and throw the stockies in the boot.

Got any pics of the new car?

I thought of fitting the new wheels to the car but the wheels I like are made to order, this takes around 3 months. Ill post a pic as soon as I can.

Im in the middle of discussions/arguments with the finer half regarding 19's. She is firm on NO bigger than 18's.

The quote from Streeter for the 18's is about $2200 delivered via sea freight but the same wheel in 19" is $3100 as they can only be sent via EMS, not the cheaper sea freight due to size and just over the weight limit for sea freight. Bit weird, I would have thought sea freight would allow heavier items than EMS.

Hi guys

Here are a couple pics of our new NM35. Will have some better pics when it arrives, hopefully this will be in 4-6 weeks.

Should be ordering wheels and suspension for it before the end of the week.

Cant wait until I can take it for a spin!!!

Good job! Look very nice, looks to have a modified standard grille, very tidy.

Isn't it funny how stagea owners start the modifying process before they even receive their cars?

Looks like a nice blue NM35 in the background of your last shot too...:whistling:

That's nice. I particularly like it with the black grill & no huge Nissan emblem.

Interesting also is the Stagea badge is removed at the back but they left the 250t RS Four. I'm going the complete opposite on mine.

I see they left you with no fuel, and I wonder who got the blue one?

Edit- geez Dale, you were too quick for me. My comments look lame now pinch.gif

Lol Leon! as you can see; I'm busy at work...:whistling:

Thanks guys. We are very happy with the purchase. The blue M35 is still for sale, think it has 80k on it and 655,000fob and dont forget the nice bronze 19" TE37's.

This is one of the wheels I'm thinking of. Pity they only come in 18" largest. Of course it needs lowering but its a quick photo chop to think about.

You could do worse than those...

I see you are looking at suspension?

Not to blow my own trumpet (toot, toot) but if you're interested; I can help with Sway Bars, a mod well worth doing. Some very happy campers at the moment.

Check the link in my sig if you like; I'm doing an order for V35 bars at the moment, but if you were quick, I'm sure I could squeeze one more in...

Cheers, Dale

I need new suspension for mine, going BCs I think. Also getting Dale's sway bars and I have adjustable rear toe arms to go in.

From all my research, BCs seem to be the best bang for buck, and if your car is anything like mine, the shocks will be stuffed! So soft, total crap! Should be better with the sway bars and toe arms, but the BCs should fix it.

Also bidding on a front strut brace :D

I thought you were doing the runner spacer.....If so I'm not sure the strut brace will fit.

Better off getting the under carriage brace's IMO

I'm hoping my smaller aluminum spacer might just fit with the strut brace. If it doesn't I'll work out what to do then. Guess I'll find out in a couple of weeks.

Under carriage bracing is heaps more expensive.

    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
