well i find vilification to be

2. vilification - a rude expression intended to offend or hurt;

and it was hardly satire

yes you raise valid points being a lot of people from within faith based religions

also we have had doctors, solicitors and Supreme court magistrates at the head of the family

Well no, it was satire, PURE satire as it were - I know you don't think its funny, and I might not either, however in my opinion, the comment was NOT intended to cause hurt, it was to cause amusement. The intent of the words are as important as the context.

Thats the very critique about satire - what one man finds funny, another may find offensive - however it is legally protected by our laws and as such, you must respect that over your own personal beliefs.

yeah you are right, but Intent is one of those hard to prove things

and the comment was probably said in jest

so true,

see the thing with our current media based society, is that we're being pushed into knee jerk reactions...

thinking with our emotions rather than our minds... a person is mentally formidible, but a group of people are easily won over.... peer pressure at its worst... one can point to the NSDAP rallies to see what a crowd can do for a flawed argument

thing is, are we going to stay quiet for fear or offending someone, or are we actually going to step up to the plate and say what we think?

I might not agree with what other people say, I might get offended, upset, whatever, fact is if you proclaim to support free speech, you support it regardless of whether you agree with it or not, otherwise you're nothing but a hypocrite....

me, I love a good debate. mods have decreed im not allowed to conduct em publicly, so i encourage all master-debators to pm me directly for your amusement :)

Got some good news vs some bad news.

For those that know about the saga of my diff problems recently. Long story short. Bought the diff from Simon. Worked fine for a while, went to Kadina for the show etc and busted the diff while under normal operations. Pulled the diff out to sus out the actual problem. One of the half shafts was completely stripped, 5-10mm from the end. Took the diff to AM Performance. He sorted the diff out for me. Got it back to being working again with another half shaft, pulled the diff out of the housing to give it a clean and remove all metakl shavings.

After nutting it out for a while, we realised that the old diff, which was a Active LSD (very similar to the GTR) is a lot wider then the current diff housing (350mm vs 310mm) :( What seems to have happened is that it all fitted fine, but as the car was being driven under load the half shaft seems to have been pulled out and hence putting stress on the end of the half shaft which caused it to strip. So now I am just wondering if someone can give me the length of the 2 different half shafts. GTR and normal GTST. Is there any difference? These are the half shafts that go from the diff to the wheel/hub.

Any help is greatly appreciated :D

hey Krishy

Last power figure...287.2 rwkw at Boostworx after a retune with the new turbo

241 rwkw at Autosalon Adelaide 2010 on the GWW Dyno

246.6 rwkw on 14psi at Boostworx after a retune with new goodies on

You have more kw than my gtr :)

What turbo did you get? and what supporting mods? care to share?

I thought you did change the halfshafts when you changed the diff, cause thats what everyone was asking me but you said it was all changed :/

they were the half shafts that go in the diff. What I might be needing now is the halft shaft that bolts to the half shaft in the diff, makes sense??

PM sent mate :D

Started up the old girl today after a good wash, straight away noticed my power windows werent working and my front torque gauge was pointing up at the sky!! No tacho, temp or oil pressure, which was handy!

Needless to say it was a blown fuse but it struck me as odd that the elec. Windows blew out with the dash??

DOESNT IT WHAT!

I would seriously LOVE to own something like that ^

Matt you're welcome over anytime to pickup the heater core for Steve.

Its out front of the entrance way (front house gate) if I happen to be out for a while.

you wanna a PITA? got a 3day permit today to run-in the fresh 26 trackcar a little more, was out past Strathalbyn near Goolwa when I lost all brake pressure.

Got it home ok, nice and easy, to find the rear left metal brake line had been rubbing against the rim for sometime. $70 got me a new braided line from ABS morphett vale.

Fuel, rego, brake line fiasco turned into an expensive day for me :(

Also had the Bank on my case; bastards. Paying as much as I can onto the mortgage while I await the contract on the sale of the house to finalize; real hard paying 1100pm on a 1200pm pension! The bank is only owed a quarter of the contract sale price on the house but are acting as if its such a big deal. Ive let them know monthly how things are progressing since Febuary when the house was first advertised and I cant say theyve been all that accommodating. Wont ever borrow from the Comm.Bank again.

Finally - to all my wellwishers here on SAU I thank you. Been 3 weeks since Ive been off the Medication (Fentanyl, google it - very nasty stuff with disgusting side effects); can proudly say since Ive been med-free I havent had a depressive episode. I reckon the past 3yrs Ive been clinically insane; many of my decisions were on the basis that Id 'top myself soon' so what does it matter? Im so glad Im now over that period in my life, been a rough 4yrs since the patellas were removed. Im dealing with the pain OK without meds & am very much looking forward to my Uni.SA Medical Science studies next year, I just hope Ive got what it takes. Studied half of the anatomy text over the past 3 weeks and actually taking it in!! A month ago it was all gibberish but now my mind is clear Im just looking forward to studying for 4yrs towards a good, decent, moral profession in diagnostic imaging.

    • For fuelling the Haltechs have O2WB fuel controllers. Very useful for helping tuning VE and correcting for *small* mistakes. Of course if your injector/cam/trigger/sensor data is just wrong (or for a GTT which is not a GT) then you will get impossible reactions to things. I am sure you know this already but the reason people don't typically put haltechs (or any Aftermarket ECU) on GT's is because there's practically no real gains to be had - So this knowledge won't be commonplace.
    • Can someone tell me if the cracks seen in the rear sway bar bushings in these photo's is unacceptable from a roadworthy point of view?
    • Shouldn't need a "base map" for anything other than guidance to ignition tuning. You just need the engine capacity right, the injector size right, and something, almost anything, for a VE map. On an NA engine, fuelling is almost completely a function of load signal & rpm. It should run and drive with a completely flat fuel map. It will be too lean under load, but that's easily fixed. We used to tune all ECUs without any base map. There were no such things (until someone had tuned a near stock engine on one, and then they had a "base map".
    • What did you actually buy/how much did it cost? When I got mine in like.. 2017...? 2019? the aim was to run Torque for gauges via ODB2 and things like Track Addict/Laptimers/Dashcam/Reversecam/Spotify etc. Mine never broke, but I wonder if you've got the same needs (it sounds like it). Cause I liked the idea of being able to do anything with it. That said, yours also cost 3x the cost of what I spent so... food for thought.
    • For me there is a massive difference in manufacturer or big brand crippled android (Sony, Kenwood etc) vs the sort of thing I've installed here, which is basically just a tablet in DIN form factor with open Android, and the other model of course is mirroring - Android Auto/Carplay. I hate the locked down manufacturer and AA options where they decide what apps I'm allowed to install, including the Launcher but also importantly things like Ecutek (for this car) or Real Dash (Stagea) are not supported. Plus those crippled versions tend to be slower due to both overheads and lower spec hardware. On the other hand, when this breaks I'll likely be in trouble for support....but how is that different to owning an Infiniti anyway
