Hahahaha point and pray! You've got like 135 degrees of angle to play with don't you, so as long as it's semi accurate, you'll get the shot hopefully lol.

A couple random things from me.

5 minute impromptu shoot with a mates car. Didn't have any modifiers with me. Will shoot it again at a later date with more time hopefully :)

Hey kory, I would love oto know what you did and your techniques for taking shot like this..absolutely love it..Thanks Heaps love your work

the shots you could get with an aquaone would make the initial expense worth it. but what an initial expense it is! i looked into cases for nikons and nearly died that the prices were near enough what the body was :O

awesome family shot there sidd! you certainly have a way with people and portraits.

I have always wanted to do underwater photography so one day will invest in a good case. The aquaone are about 1.8k US plus shipping. Have a feeling I will be taxed on it too at customs. But no way I can afford it right now. Perhaps end of year maybe.

Thanks for the kind words about the pics. Cheers jay :)

Just one from me tonight... Busy little bumble bee. Shot it tonight, 20 minute clean/edit.

Srsly, Matt, Great shot with that rig + someone's knowhow!

Thanks Homeboys! It can't be to bad. Twas Explored on flickr :D 2nd shot to get explored. First one was Terry's rear end. Only found that out tonight while looking at stats. nice suprise!

Terry, You're locked in to see how big my rig is soon!

Redline Photography - That is light painting. Plenty of info out there on how to do it, everyones technique varies and what they use etc... but it's a lot of fun when you get to know what your doing! Black cars are extremely hard though so i will be keen to shoot that black car again to see what i can do. Hope this helps, let me know if it doesn't.

Josh - That's a rig shot. Shot with a boom hanging off the car. If you google rig shots, you will find out tonnes of info on it! The hardest part to get right is the boom and looks like Matt has got it right.

i thought this at first, and in general you are right, but... if you want shots with extreme "fisheye" curves then framing gets a bit trickier without a viewfinder. also getting up nice and close to subjects is a bit hit and miss, specialy if you want to use the curvature of the wide angle lens effectively. just my thoughts on it tho. some shots i wish i had tilted the cam just a few more degress to get better framing. i guess the more you use it the better you get at guessing what you will get.

Yep. what he said. it's a rig shot. basically you hang a pole off the car with a camera, move the car, shoot the car. it's quite a bit of work and if you want to do it right it gets exxy, but the results make it worth it :)

Got out my photo gear and gave car photography a crack. First attempt at shooting cars.

    • Yes to both! Yes to standard ECU and tune, but exhaust is aftermarket. Unsure on brand. Actually have it sitting in at my desk haha! I have to set it up on my laptop but this is a great next step, will do. So I generally try to shift before 4.5K RPM most times. I largely don't do a lot of high-rev driving, but I will take it up to red 1-2x a week max, as I know the occasional "Italian tune-up" is good for these cars.  Oh wow, is this way better than what I'm getting. Does this mean there's a good chance I have an issue?   Thanks for all the info so far guys.
    • Old Son, did you re-use the Holden ABS in the new shell or try a different module?
    • Yeah, nah. I had the actuator rod off it today. The arm will not move at all. Neither out, nor in. Yeah, you'd think so, but I've been thinking about that. Even when the actuator rod fell all the way off at the beginning of this saga, it would build more boost and faster in lower gears than it would in higher gears, and you'd think that that was the opposite of what should happen. But I strongly suspect that there is a thing with the gearing getting the revs to rise faster, that there must be some transient effect with the gas flow rate rising quickly, that you don't get with the more steady state case of the higher gears. Keep in mind - the gate is not shut in either of my weirdnesses. So things are not "normal". We normally think about a turbo spooling up (below the wastegate target) with the gate shut. I have all sorts of mental models running now where the gate is a little bit open, and having it stuck open allowing gas out while it should be going through the turbine has all sorts of weird effects (in these mental models). I'm thinking in the higher gears, the ex mani pressure builds to the point where enough gases spill out the wastegate to just prevent the pressure rising much more at all, or just creeping up, all the whole the revs are increasing and getting closer to the point where a gear shift becomes necessary.
    • Is it possibly wastegate actuator itself is sticking, or even the rod to flapper? Otherwise I reckon things are getting a bit rusty/worn   Also odd it won't boost in 3rd to 5th, but will in 1st, I'd expect the other way around with it slightly open as there's more time on your way to redline for it to spin up
    • Does anyone know ow what these two plugs are for and if they should be unplugged? Just put the dash back together and can't remember if these were plugged in before or unplugged! (Blue and white plugs) 🤦🏽‍♂️
