i will try and find a picture of my actual one, as it had plastic chrome hubcaps, but this ones is close enough...owned by my brother on his p's then me before being put to rest by an idiot my dad gave it to. Still by far the most reliable car i've ever owned sadly enough.

Good idea for a thread.

My love of the RB's originated with this prime example VL. Drove the old girl into the absolute ground. Sold it for $500 to some 17yo dreamer with grand plans; 450000k's on the clock, sill under the front drivers door, rear windscreen pillar and around the front windscreen seal was completely rusted out. If you tapped it hard enough you would nearly put your hand through it.....had some wicked times on the dirt road you can see in the background (and in the back seat) :P

My first car... Holden VN SS in Pheonix Red. I had genuine VP GTS rims, big pacemakers, 3 inch exhaust, stage 2 shiftkit in the auto box and dropped on its guts... I do miss her.

This SLR 5000 was my first car back in 1992. From then I owned about five more V8 Holden's. I wish I had of kept the SLR going by the prices they fetch these days.

I converted to skylines about 6 years ago after being taken for a ride in one. The following week I had my VT geniii up for sale. Have never thought about getting another V8 since

Cool 1st cars....

Mine was a 1988 VL Holden Calais series 2.

Original owner who had bought it from Barry Smith Holden in Castle Hill.

Champagne Gold and only had 114,000kms and was immaculate when I bought it in late 2000.

I actually really like the car. But as my brothers were rev heads I got bored of the power way too quickly. Put it in the trading post when I decided to sell it and was sold that Thursday morning by 11am

2nd car was a 87 Mazda 323 run around while I was thinking of what to buy.

3rd was a Holden Astra Equipe brand new which I made money on...

4th was a brand new 2002 Subaru WRX. It was the end of the bug eye shape so got an awesome deal on it.. Had that for just under 2 years.

5th was a 1991 R32 GTR in silver in 2004 which ran a best of 11.9 and back then was pretty damn quick.

6th was R34 GTR in bayside blue..

While owning that I had a few run around cars. 2 Ford Laser's which were awesome little cars.

Then had a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9.

And now a 2011 Nissan X-Trail and a 1998 Mitsubishi Magna.

Next car is probably gonna be a Lamborghini Gallardo most likely a UK one cause they are gonna be more in my price range.

    • Many thanks for your responses, guys.
    • This is why I can't afford a Porsche 911 or a new M3. Farken. Will hopefully provide me with a bit more  braking capacity at SMSP. Going from a 324mm to a 354mm rotor will also help dissipate heaps of heat. Not mention, the rears will also be upgraded to balance the brake bias. Believe it or not, with just only front Brembos and the rear OEM Sumitomo, I can actually feel the brake bias towards the back, hence trail braking into turns I could feel the rear end being unsettled. Hopefully if my broscience serves me correctly, I should resolve the brake bias by upgrading both front and rear calipers.
    • I'll chime in here with my experience. Motec is great if you have the money and know a good person to support you. They don't really offer retail support and the dealers make SFA margin on the product, so the business model is setup for you to be supported by a dealer. I'm lucky enough to know a guy who's ex Motec and very generous with his time and is a total boffin. In addition to that, I also use Brad Sherriff who's an absolute legend to work with. The downside to Motec is the software isn't very intuitive, pay to play, poor/limited online support and costly upgrades.  I've not owned an Emtron myself but a good friend runs a performance workshop in Melbourne who is an Emtron dealer. They won't be fitting any more to customer cars because of the poor level of knowledge within the Emtron support team and lack of ability to solve issues with the platform. Not to mention the circumstances around the establishment of the product and company in the first place. I've run Motec's since the old M8's back in the early 2000's so I'm certainly not without a bias but I look at it like this. Everyone acknowledges Motec as the best consumer grade product without spending mega dollars on Bosch Motorsport / Life Racing and so on. When you consider the real cost of your car (not what you tell your mrs) the cost difference between an Emtron and a Motec is tiny, why would you compromise over a few hundred dollars?
    • Closer to getting the shit box back on the road. That long hose, took 2 months to acquire. However the rest were all already to go same week I ordered them. For those playing at home, that long hose is for a RB25DE N/A motor, as they don't run a water/oil heat exchanger, the hoses underneath the plenum are much more elegant and not a maze of shit.
