Andrew, are all the rounds going to be “made up tracks” held at race circuits or is the series going to start using the full race track. I understand you can’t use all of the thunderdome due to the track condition but what are the plans for Round 2 at QLD Raceway?

Would love to bring our S15 to run the series, but would not suit the track seen in the video and the same would go with a lot of other dedicated time attack cars.

I wouldn't be too concerned Harry about an advantage.

There was only 3 of them doing full laps and they did maybe 5 laps each on the final design? I was driving my Touareg! and only was only driving it through the high speed S section on the back straight. (I never did a full lap even as a passenger. I never even went onto the bank - but I have driven it back in 2006)

So given a) the track will be fairly different with water barriers to what it is with witches hats, b) the track will be different to the test day - it was more a concept design day to an exact lay-out design and c) everyone will do probably 20-30 laps before timing even starts I wouldn't worried about the guys who did a few laps having a huge advantage.

Yeah there was only 5 laps of the final course design done, and that was with me as passenger.

That said it won't be 'identical' anyway IMO as it was only rough positioning to see how it would work. I'd support even a longer back section for more speed lol, that would totally change the course dynamic again.

Calder is the only custom built course we are using. The other two rounds this year are on "conventional" tracks. We wanted to try and differentiate our event and do something special for the first event. For next years 5 round series we might use the big track so time attack cars dont have to change their set-up.

The guys testing the course can compete, yes, but tje final layout will be slightly different with proper corners built instead of cones.

Ones thing for sure, its wild fun. Im going to set JET200 up for it for sure!!!!

I don't know if practice the day before the event allows quite the same opportunity to change your setup to suit a track no-one else gets to run on as practicing a couple of months before everyone else. It feels a bit like allowing a competitor to course check a blind rally to me.

That is great news. Will defiantly be bringing our S15 out for these events then

Everyone is on same boat so level playing field

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
