I used to take vitamin C tablets, always felt they helped me out in staving off colds and shortening the symptoms of them...particularly as my diet is deficient of fruit and vegetables. Now onto a family multi vitamin tablet which has succeeded in turning my urine a neon yellow about an hour after taking. Not sure if this one is as good as the vitamin C, I know it doesn't contain nearly as much vitamin C in it, so will probably switch back soon. Not sure if this one is as good as the vitamin C, I know it doesn't contain nearly as much vitamin C in it, so will probably switch back soon. i take swisse mens ultivite multivitamins, ive seen lots of things about people saying they help with weight lifting and putting on muscle etc.. especially if ur diet is out of whack at times, which alot of people are i think. but im still not completly sure if they are worth taking.. i have heard alot of good things about them from sources who aren't actually selling them though which makes me think mayb they are a good thing... but i have no idea if they actually help me or not... Then research or be guided as to what the correct dose should be. Then know when to take it ie. morning or night? before or after food? Then ask yourself, "If I'm benefitting from this, how long do I take it for?" GTR-N1 Posted July 29, 2011 Share Posted July 29, 2011 I think the dangers out there that would cause people to seriously consider taking a 'multi' might include... * working long hours * stress at work * stress at home * foods consumed that are denatured (rather than boosted) by GM * junk food offsetting good food * processing with chemicals that just shouldn't be there * strenuous training * insomnia * too much alcohol * using recreational drugs * too much simple sugars/carbs * compromised immune system * rehab after an illness However the dangers out there that might cause a person to consider a 'mega' would include... * genetic factors > clinical major depression, ODD, OCD, ADD, ADHD, bipolar II, certain forms of anxiety eg. phobic anxiety, anger/rage/revenge, rheumatoid arthritis, etc. * excessive use of alcohol * taking and abusing certain recreational drugs ...remembering that even the rationale behind using a 'mega' is still, to augment what the body isn't quite producing or consuming. In tablet form, only around 5-10% of what is on the label is absorbed and utilised by the body. Capsule form is around 45-50% Liquid form around 80-90% depending on filler attached to the nutrients. This is obviously rough but something that seemed to be a recurring theme when researching supplements. Anyway, my question is has anyone else come across these kind of statements? If so, where from and where do you get decent liquid based multi's that isn't an MLM company. I'm getting nothing but protein and fats really, with the occasional salad due to time constraints I've had since getting back from Europe. Chinese eat bitter melon to prevent muscle cramps too - finely cut & sauteed with shredded beef in black bean sauce. It contains natural quinine. I believe it is banned in a number of major countries across the world due to 1/2 of the additives in it being not so good.
