R32 Gtst Brakes

hey guys

well i am nearly shore that i dont have the stock r32gtst brakes on my car

a mechanic has told me they are gtr r32 brakes....

some guys on the forum i have met up wit me have told me r33gtst brakes

well to the point i am up for new rotors and i have seen a guy selling dba rotors on here for cheap soe has gave me the price for

r32 gtst rotors but will this fit since i have these brakes on my car

this might be a stupid question but if anyone noes it would be a big help for me

What is the diameter and thickness of your current rotors?

well boostn imports has contacked me after i asked if they would fit ( the guy who sells the dba rotors) and he says they wiill fit even if they are upgraded rotors

i am guess since he seels alot of parts on here he will no

R32GTSt are 280mm rotors.

R33gtst and R32GTR are 296mm rotors (IIRC 32GTR is 2mm thicker).

If you try to run 280mm rotors with calipers meant for 296mm, you will have a bunch of pad hanging over the edge.

If you try to run 296mm rotors with calipers meant for 280mm, you won't be able to bolt the caliper back up.

Bumping and old thread, can anyone tell me what brake callipers are in the first photo, supposedly the second photo is r33 gtst ones. Car is a 92 r32 gtst.

Thinking of buying the upgraded gtr gktech rotors with adapters because they come in similar pricing as some good DBA rotors..opinions on pads?

Edit: measured the rotors on the car, 280mm which means they are 32 gtst? And my spares are 296mm which means 33 gtst or 32 gtr. The front gktech gear doesn't fit with r33 gtst rotors though because if the rotor width difference... Either way I need front rotors and I'm not sure what's better

Actually it doesn't say why they wouldn't work with 33 gtst callipers, just not 32 gtr ones....any thoughts on this?

Almost wanna keep my current callipers on because they aren't shaved...

The calipers with Nissan written on them are 4 piston Sumitomo calipers, the R32/R33 Turbo coupe models use them as do R32 GTR models.

This stuff is really not that hard.

R32 GTSt calipers are easy to space out to the 324mm rotor that many want to space out to. The dogbone adapters for that are a good design, everything goes together well.

R32 GTSt calipers are impossible to space out to 296mm, so you can never fit them onto R33 rotors. Nor would you bother when you can just buy some R33 calipers to go with 296mm rotors.

R33 GTST calipers can be spaced out to sit on a 324mm rotor, but the dogbone design is not excellent and you will probably need to grind some caliper material. (To be fair, you might even need to do that when slapping 32 calipers onto 324mm rotors also, because the calipers that suit smaller diameter rotors don't necessarily have the right 'curve' to fit onto bigger rotors.)

Nobody will be able to tell you which calipers are in either of your photos, because it is the length of the legs that is the main difference between them.

So if I'm after a relatively easy fit, stick with the 32 callipers and buy the adapters and 324mm rotors. Sell the rest
