I'm now seeing 620 rwhp on E85 with CDI ignition allowing/accepting much more fuel. This is despite my modererate 2860-5 low mount turbo setup. My HKS 1000 CC injectors are at full duty cycle at max torque.

In hindsight, I would have gone to ID2000 (2000cc) injectors as the HKS units weren't "plug and play" in any case.

I'll take the opportunity again to express how impressed I am with the billet.net.au CDI kit (M&W CDI + bracket + harness etc). The spark strength allows bullsh*t amounts of E85 fueling midrange and just wakes up the turbo response. Forget your Splitfire/Twinpower combo.

We usually go LS2 Truck coils on anything that needs more spark. They have 120mj output as opposed to LS1 coils with 60mj ouput

CDI is good though, it does have its limitations in some applications and can cause extreme noise in street cars if not properly wired or shielded

how much is the m&w setup worth?

I maxed my 900cc injectors@65psi fuel pressure out at 420kw/560hp. should have just put id 2000's in in the first place.

You trolling me or are you just clueless?

Calculated fuel flow based on the EXACT ms open time of the injector at peak power. The injectors are being told to deliver that exact amount of fuel. So where to get one? windows has a calculator or you can buy one from any newsagent

Well if you've already calculated the fuel flow then surely you must know the duty!

PS - assuming base pressure of 3Bar I'm guessing your close to 100% duty.

Im sure its simply a case of he remembers the flow rate more than he does the duty. Big deal...

Exactly right.....and if he read my post again he would see what I wrote in brackets instead of beng as quick as possible to jump on my post

hey gav, very interested to hear about this M+W CDI kit. what coils are you using with it? rough ballpark on cost? and also what ecu are you using?

thanks mate.

Kit Consists of the following:

1. M&W Pro-16B or Pro-Drag 6 CDI Ignition Amplifier

2. 6 x CDI Pencil Coils

3. Complete Shielded & Terminated wiring harness using military spec wiring

4. Coil Adaptor Kit

5. 6 x Denso Iridium Spark Plugs

From what I remember speaking to Gav about it a couple weeks ago, cost is around $2.5k, which almost made me faint. Getting my car tuned with E85 soon, will see how far the 850cc injectors get me, hoping for 500rwhp.

Guess you'd hope it would be better than a HKS DLi... Given its almost 3x the price!

Given that Xspeed are the HKS Distributor, and even they were impressed with the results, I'd say it is better. Worth the price? I'm not so sure.

This is a kit after all, and is primariliy made from off the shelf M&W and AEM parts, just with a custom billet mounting plate and some custom wiring. You could probably make something up yourself of alot cheaper. Between the amp and the CDI coils there are $1500US worth of parts.

I have done a search but cant find a definate answer....Engine is rb26dett.

If using twin 044's, with twin entry rail etc, will 800cc injectors be ok if i just bump up the rail pressure, and If so to what power level?

My 800s are pretty much brand new sards so If I could keep them instead of having to buy new ones that would obviously be the go.

Any help is much appreciated. Cheers

370-380rwkw would be my guess, which is confirmed with T04GTR's results and GTRgav's and pretty much every other result I have seen :)

A fair whack more than 300rwkw

Are you referring to the same T04GTR and Gav that posted in this thread? Because I'm pretty sure they said they have 1000cc injectors

ok, well it's not too bad. the coil pack mount is very nice and for a good CDI system and coils it's not out of this world expensive. I mean if you had to buy a set of new splitfires and a HKS DLI that's over $1000 just for a slightly enhanced factory system.

And from what Gav has told me they've seen a hugh improvement of mid-range, as they've been able to increase the spark plug gap. If I see a similar issue with spark breakdown when I tune on the E85 then I won't hesitate, and will go straight for these

    • Plan on the day will be to park trackside. Depending on space availability we will try put a small shade tent and a few of the cars on top of the hill inside turn 3, this is an easy to get to parking area with views of Turn 2, Turn 3, Turn 4 and Turn 5 and limited other pieces of the view around the track. IMPORTANT NOTE! One consideration from previous years is from memory the trackside parking sells out before the admission tickets, for that reason I encourage anyone planning on coming to buy tickets for parking now via the official website; https://www.worldtimeattack.com/ The type of parking you are looking for is 2 Day Park & View (Access Around Venue) Vehicle Pass Only Please note this does not include admission to the event itself, remember to grab that also, and kids under 12 get in for free!

    • Good time for a carbon roof
    • Not in any way aroused by any of those, except maybe the big AMGs. And that would break my never a Euro, ever, rule.
