Watching other people enjoy a track day is like being the designated driver on a big night out. Shit ain't cool.

Couldnt have said it better my self. I was up supporting my brother in his gold 180, was a really hot day so bailed after a couple hours; I'm soft.

Shame about the lack of cars actually driving though..... typical Skylines ;)

did you run andrew? i couldnt manage to get the day off:(

Yeah mate I managed a best of 1:28.01 in the end, but only realised after my tyres had gone to licorice that I had the windows down and the a/c cranking for that session (I only did 2 sessions, and only cos there were basically no other cars running). Still happy with that time!

finaly faster than the 60kw mx5 andrew, congrats... :nyaanyaa:

had a ball today guys, great to have a chat with you all! didn't break anything out there although my CD player has mysteriously stopped working lol...

Shame i left so early, was just way too hot for me though!

My head is full of future mods now (oil cooler, 3076/ nistune yadayada) thanks for the motivation to throw more money at the car lol

had a great day out there, apart from the fuel filler cap deciding it didnt want to seal anymore, once that was sorted car was faultless all day. was really to hot out there, only would get a lap or 2 before tyres, oil and water all got a bit warm, even with all the preventative measures. Still managed mostly 1:24s for the day, will have to check the timer tomorrow when its not raining to see what was my fastest.

so over Christmas seems im working to buy some semis and some bigger/working brakes combo. ah well, the quest to go faster and faster continues

In the tab next to this one I have that set of Alcons I've been eying off for a couple weeks now. And in the tab next to that, tirerack.com.

This can only end badly.

Or well, depending on your perspective I guess.

was a great day

managed a best of 1m26.3s, pretty happy with that. 1 second off my previous best. and considering nothing changed on the car since last track day, appart from more worn tyres.

the safety car was annoying though! :D

it was frustrating to keep boiling the coolant, ah well at least i got a few hot laps before the beeps started

Best track day I've been to, sooo much track time haha.

Heat was causing alot of issues with tyre grip, my ass was getting a little loose out there >_<

Played around with a few things and managed a 1:19.1, looking forward to another sausa track day in 2012!

It was an awesome track day. Pitty it was hot early on and than cooled down a bit for the afternoon sessions. Would have loved the cooler weather earlier on though.

Thanks heaps for getting the pads changed mate. Really appreciate the effort you put in. I should be able to change it now by myself. Well will give it a go and see how go. I don't even know the best time that I put down. Guess will have to wait till the spreadsheet with all the times come out :D

^^^ hey Krishy, PLEASE tell me you have the timers and beacon!

I grabbed the Box and put the timers in it,there are 7 timers. i havent had a look inside them though. I Did the last session by myself and when i came in not one person from SAU was at Mallala. So I just grabbed the timers, unsure of the beacon. I was using a different beacon that was placed on the start/finish line.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
