Hey everyone just wondering what boost control everyone is using. I've had a greddy profec in the past and found it to be a slow process to get the settings right, Im using a turbosmart boost t for now but I'm looking at going electronic again. I'm stuck between the turbosmart eboost street and the hks evc. Thoughts??

Ps- IPhone = gayness and lots of accidental button pushing.

Profec B spec 2 on the stagea, gets up to max setting pretty well with little to no overboost

Currently on the track beast (yet to run) I'll just be setting the turbotech manual bleed valve to 1 bar as the twin turbo's are nothing special (just steel wheel rebuilds)

Huge thread on these units in the Forced Induction thread.

Profec B hard to beat at the price, I have 2 of them.

If you have the right actuator then a bleeder will do the job fine anyway.

+1

If the actuator is set close to your desired boost any form of control will work well.

My high presure actuator from hypergear only holds 13/14psi, so it's about a 7 psi increase I need. Il go compare prices at Autobarn and see what looks better. I did like my greddy profec, it was just hard to set.

I'm using a Blitz SBC I-D Spec R. Not a bad little unit...only one gripe I have...the dual solenoid unit is massive (compared to others)....little bit hard to hide from praying copper eyes

Stay away from gizzmo M2 timer and boost , kin shit unit , went wrong and combined with my foot over boosted and blew a ring in number 2 , STAY THE F AWAY FROM GIZZMO !!! , profec or sbc dual work well

I have a Blitz SBC I-Color in my M35. It was disconnected when the car was sold so I could get it registered. NFI how to plumb it in. :rofl2:

I'll plumb it up for you, into my car ;)

Blitz SBC ID III is what I had in my R33, was awesome, any of the Blitz dual solenoid units will keep you happy. When I bought mine several years ago i found a comparison between all the top brands and it came out on top.

I've got a Gizzmo MS-2 and it works fine. Took quite a while to get dialed in but it's all good now. It's handy having a boost controller and turbo timer in the one unit, saves clutter. I've got mine mounted where the handbreak release was as I have a factory manual and no release handle there. You can see it nicely through the bottom of the steering wheel.

    • Sounds good Hmm suppose the main thing is, how much do you care about this car? The filler doesn't make for a very good water barrier lol. If there was a tiny little bit of rust forming now, that in 3 to 5 years time becomes obvious under the paint (starts to bubble up), would it bother you?
    • I already have the ability to datalog the voltage... what I can't do is correlate it to what the gauge is showing when I'm looking at the data at a later date. Or something like this. Except getting the oil to 125C+ involves me going 200+kmh at the track so you can imagine this is a little tricky unless I do something like note what the voltage is when I am at the top of 5th gear so I have a point to reference on. Drove car today. O2 still reading richer because hopefully not a leak instead of massive restriction I've introduced. Car really doesn't sound like a LS. It's quite strange. Pulled a bit of fuel out up top. This does potentially explain why my spark plugs looked like the car was running pretty over-rich. If I was tuning it to a ~12.7 which in reality was far richer than that in the past. It will be handy to have the dyno WB to compare my WB to to compare notes that's for sure. At this point I'm happy to just sit in the passenger seat and tune the thing given I've got about 7 million hours on the platform lol.
    • Yeah I understand you have to pay for an updated map or subscription service or something. But I can't even find a current map for Australia. My map is dated 2017, but didn't this car version still sell in Australia until 2021?   Also, just as an aside, the navigation system warns you of traffic incidences ahead.....why would they include that on a map they knew is not receiving live information. I am forever going to be warned of an incident that probably existed for 30 minutes 8 years ago.
