Hey all

I have a r34 rb25det neo in my r32 running the stock loom and ecu its taken alot of headaches to get the car running as well as it currently is

now I have a list of mods and think what will limit me is the stock ecu

Engine has

3" exhaust

Dsr430 turbo

greddy style ffp with 80mm throttlebody

Fmic 2.5" hot and 3" cold piping

top feel fuel rail with neo injectors

tomei fpr

550hp fuel pump

dsr coil packs

topmount stainless manifold

port and poilished head

50mm tial bov

41mm tial wastegate (9psi)

gfb boost controller

pod filter with cai

Im currently running the afm in blow threw set up

Now from memory the stock ecu has a boost cut at 15psi?

Im going to run her upto 13-14psi this weekend after I sort the oil return leak and get my oil gauges on

any idea on what rwkw Ill get and how safe it will be (note I will take it on the dyno to check afrs etc as well)

thanks

First of all the TP cut differs from car to car, mine was cutting at 11psi whereas others I have seen can run 11,12,13 before they hit it. Secondly, you realize that 13-14psi through a larger turbo is NOT the same as 13-14 psi through the stock turbo right? The engine reads mass air flow, not restriction. You will be running rich as all hell, and if you hit TP cut (which I'm sure you will) then it will feel like you're hitting a wall every time you come on boost.

It will always surprise me how many people want to leave the ECU to the last thing they mod, when really it should be done first. Get an ECU. Get a proper tune.

Well, it's not just the boost cut and the TP limit that you have to worry about. The top right hand corner of the fuel and timing maps are massively rich and massively retarded. You will make no power if you go up there. And if you try to run it up to 13-14 psi on a big turbo, you will certainly go there.

Do not waste your time trying to run it hard unless you either Nistune the ECU or get something else.

Do not attempt to drive it with the stock ecu. You will need a Nistune chip or other custom made tuned in the car chip or better still bite the bullet and get a Link. You will probably max out the afm so you will need a Z32 afm (unless you get the Link). And change your wastegate setup to be nearer to your target boost. Stock injectors may limit your power.

Dude I would consider getting the nistune. It's about $200 and allows you to fully program the factory ecu, which is almost always the best ecu for any car.

Find a good tuner and get it done. You'll be laughing all the way then.

Car stands no chance of driving, let alone making any power on a dyno.

Not surprised you've had issues getting it running with that part list either.

Unless you have a tuneable ECU, forget even taking it for a dyno as it'll just be a waste of cash.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
