Hi,

Looking to do a swap from my HKS GT-SS setup to a Single on my GTR. Don't really want to fk around with having everything made up custom work etc

what companies make off the shelf single kits for the rb26?

I know HKS make the T51R kit but i think that is way to huge (looking for 400hp ish)

400hp.....is that a typo?

nope.

ideally i like to stay with the twin setup however, after rebuild them 2x now, and having issue with the std fittings i am just sick of the setup and working on it isn't the easies thing to do compare to a single

I don't want to to push anymore than 400 maybe 450hp max because the car is predominately a race car and with the known oil issue in the rb engines i don't want to lean on the engine too much.

i'm currently making 370rwhp @ 18psi with the gt-ss power is limited by my injectors (600cc @ 90% duty cycle, then need to be clean and flow tested)

Also i do miss the gate, and the way a single makes power compare to twin setup... i find the gt-ss laggy

Big sump and sort our your catch can/vent setup. People still turn bearings on standard turbos and engines.

600 cc @ 90% for 276 kw at the treads... Something wrong there. Rebuilding them x 2, something wrong there. SS's laggy? Wow.

Find someone to fix the setup you have, there is something wrong.

as mention my injectors need a clean, i had been using them for 2years in my previous track car before i put them into the gtr and they were bough second hand. When i had the car tune i wasn't interested in upping the power as i just wanted more seat time but since then the car hasn't been driven for almost a year and only recently have i started working on it again

rebuilding the turbo 2x nothing wrong... 1st time was because they had done the bearings, second time my filter let go and destroy the wheel.

I find the GT-SS laggy my previous track car was single turbo rb25 with similar power. Also doesn't help my other track car is an evo which has insane levels of responses

i understand this but the car has spent more time sitting in my garage then driving if the sump was to come off i know it would soon turn into a very hardcore build which atm i want to try and keep as simple as possible. The car was already achieving good times at the track with n1 turbos and std ecu.. i just wanted something less laggy and more reliable hence i went with the gt-ss

Push a Garrett GT35R/T04Z to 400kw+.

FY,I GCG sell both of these as a kit with a manifold, gate and other bits and pieces. No dump pipe though.

thanks will check them out

I was getting full boost (20psi at 4500rpm) even though my dyno graph shoes 4800rpm lol with -7's.

Running a GT35 now and its on full song by 4300rpm and makes 80hp more on the same boost.

It is possible there was something wrong with my old setup in terms of response but they were making the power they were meant to be.

It wasnt the turbos or actuators but Im done thinking about it, quite happy with the single setup im running now!.

    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
    • To be fair it's the other way around. 300kw is boring in a modern Golf or BMW. They are so competent / well-engineered / devoid of emotion that you have to go stupid fast to feel anything. Whereas the <300kw RB still makes all the right noises and it feels good to drive. Can pull off at the lights with the turbo whooshing and the blow-off pssshing and feel like the coolest kid on the block. Just don't look to the side where you'll see the bored housewifes in their shitbox Yaris/Corolla/Camry that kept up because you didn't go fast at all
    • 300kW is so boring in a Skyline, you'll get spanked by someone's mum's Golf with Alibaba pipes, and an email tune.
