Is it worth buying? From all the reviews I've watched/read MW3 seems to be just one big expansion of MW2. New maps and guns, with tweaks to the perks/kill sprees, but no actually gameplay difference.

I'm loving BF3 still, so I might just hold off on MW3.

Yeah that's what a few I've been talking too have said as well. No major improvements overall.

Friend of mine has both (on PC), BF3 being a clear winner. MW3 feels to "arcade" style - ie, console.

I might get a copy of it later on once price drops.

Where did you get MW3 on the PS3 for $48? I would be keen to get it for that price

I had credit at the store because they had stuffed up a previous order of mine quite badly. They were retailing MW3 for $99 but Target & Big W have it for $78 so it was easy to price match that plus used my store credit of $30 (which I had thought was going to be $50) but in the end I only paid $48 out of my pocket.

Sorry, I should have explained that better last night but was anxious to put down my initial impressions and get back to some shooting.

Every time I play a map for the first time I get destroyed but each subsequent time the odds are a bit more even. Had a visitor which cost me 26 deaths during a game of Sabotage whilst I stood at the doorway with my controller vibrating like crazy.

Any one else wear an adult diaper while playing , to save bathroom breaks?... or is it just me?

Im sitting on the fence atm , not %100 on the game just yet but after tonight had some nice games 40+ kills ...

got it last night for PS3, still very buggy and lots of drop outs but that should improve as more people start playing it... (you hope)

sucks when your waiting for a game, find one with dubious ping and end up getting owned because you light someone up but somehow get killed, watch the killcam and apparently you didn't fire a shot... rage

also f**king campers taking advantage of the fact people don't know the maps yet... its better when these sort of games have been out for a while and everyone knows where douchebags like to lie down and wait for people... so homo

Yeah having similar woes with a strict NAT, tried everything regarding the router to fix it, but no luck. Even when I have a 4 bar connection seem to have the lag issues (sure I hit someone, didn't fire on kill cam).

Personally, I like it, features such as the assault/support/specialist kill streaks, the re-plays to share with friends in the "vault" are big improvements to the game. But for some reason, nothing feels as good (real) as MW2, Black Ops, World At War and MW3 all feel very arcadey and slow, while MW2 always felt more realistic and quick to me, but i'm slowly getting used to it.

Do like the specialist kill-streaks though, 6 perks FTW!

I raged more lastnight than I've ever raged at a COD game...not sure if I'm liking it fellas. I'll play til level 80, but if I don't favour it by then, I'm going back to blops. Ridiculous how many campers and snipers are in this f**king game, the tactics are just much dirtier than blops ever was. I hate that I have to use dirty tactics like them to get a positive KDR. Also sick of dying as soon as I see someone...it's like they've already got 5 bullets off into me before I even see them, yet I have perfect ping? WTF. Then there's the useless radars / mini maps which don't actually look anything like the map you're playing on. And everytime you shoot someone, there's some guy who was watching you kill him, BAM dead half a second after making a kill.

Another pissy complaint: when changing something about your custom class, if you want to make that change to the rest of your classes you have to scroll through each of their menus individualy...in blops it would automatically select the menu option for you, based on where you were in the last class' menu. Therefore could change that thing about all your classes in the space of 15 seconds...I get half way through the job by the time intermission is up.

I totally agree with Birds , the quickscope sniiping is rediculous

Also getting spawn trapped within 30seconds of starting a game is f*&king annoying , i mean im all for a positive k/d but camping and laying down in hallways is RAGE material

Does anybody else think the maps are way too small?

totally agree

Blops was good in that you could get away if someone had the drop on you... if you realised quickly that you were outgunned you could dive for cover and survive... MW3 your dead before you even have a chance to react... watch the killcam and its like you were wandering along with your thumb up your arse staring at the sky... and I'm pretty decent at these games so in no way a noob... also hip firing is way too accurate/deadly

lots of campers in Blops too but once I had the maps sussed you could always flank and kill them... staying still was death in Blops

early days so I'm reserving judgement... did enjoy riot control though... something badass about running around with a semi-auto shotty... love the sound it makes

Give it a bit of time, fellas. They'll be sending out updates to fix all these issues.

BlOps did it a lot. They're updates always involved tweaking weapons and fixing spawn points and what not. An update was available quite often too.

I'll probably wait a while before buying this. Into the bf3 scene atm.

They can remove campers and snipers with DLC? AWESOME.

:P

I'm getting MW3 in the next couple of days (but downloading a "demo" copy for a single player fix)....from what I've read and watch...it does look like an extension of MW2 and the graphics engine is really starting to show it's age.

I like being the Sniper but I like to move to a spot get a shot off and kill someone and then move off the next spot, but quickscoping is just silly to me. But there should be an option for spawn protection to stop the spawn campers.....they are the ones that are real PITA.

The one thing I don't like is COD: Elite. paying for to access premium DLC and other stuff is crap...what's worse you can see where the spawn points are on a map (make spawn camping even worse - that's if you pay for it).

What's worse....there is no COD: Elite for PC as of yet

lol thread should be renamed to "Why MW3 Sucks". I signed up for that COD Elite shit, the basic version of which seems to be just an electronic gamer's manual...what happened to including this with the game disc itself? I used to love reading through 30 page manuals, with descriptions/pictures of all the weapons and characters in the game. Gone with the 90's!

Was getting a couple of "disc cannot be read, please remove it and clean it" errors lastnight...cannot work out if it's actually something wrong with the disc or a bug.

Haha that is a fun class, the Striker is my favourite weapon so far. I tried the riot shield as a primary weapon...what a joke that is...only good for lulz IMO. Walked up to some snipers and bashed them with the riot shield - one of them tried shooting at my shield but couldn't penetrate so he started running away from me and I gave chase to bash him, fucking hilarious.

you already have a thread... in the nicest way possible, GTFO ;)

Birds: I was watching 2 riot shield guys face off, circling and taking turns to bash the other with their shields... was hilarious, like 2 sumo wrestlers dressed in bomb squad gear... well until I walked up behind one of them and put the striker to the back of his head

.....

Also sick of dying as soon as I see someone...it's like they've already got 5 bullets off into me before I even see them, yet I have perfect ping? WTF.

.....

THIS X 11ty11!!!!

Glad i'm not the only one. MW2 if a noob hit you, you could drop, turn around and take them out no worries. On MW3 it's like EVERYONE has aim-bot? You're dead before you even can see around a corner, watch the kill cam and it appears you were taking a leisurely stroll?

    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
    • Hi,  Just joined the forum so I could share my "fix" of this problem. Might be of use to someone. Had the same hunting at idle issue on my V36 with VQ35HR engine after swapping the engine because the original one got overheated.  While changing the engine I made the mistake of cleaning the throttle bodies and tried all the tricks i could find to do a throttle relearn with no luck. Gave in and took it to a shop and they couldn't sort it. Then took it to my local Nissan dealership and they couldn't get it to idle properly. They said I'd need to replace the throttle bodies and the ecu probably costing more than the car is worth. So I had the idea of replacing the carbon I cleaned out with a thin layer of super glue and it's back to normal idle now. Bit rough but saved the car from the wreckers 🤣
    • After my last update, I went ahead with cleaning and restoring the entire fuel system. This included removing the tank and cleaning it with the Beyond Balistics solution, power washing it multiple times, drying it thoroughly, rinsing with IPA, drying again with heat gun and compressed air. Also, cleaning out the lines, fuel rail, and replacing the fuel pump with an OEM-style one. During the cleaning process, I replaced several hoses - including the breather hose on the fuel tank, which turned out to be the cause of the earlier fuel leak. This is what the old fuel filter looked like: Fuel tank before cleaning: Dirty Fuel Tank.mp4   Fuel tank after cleaning (some staining remains): Clean Fuel Tank.mp4 Both the OEM 270cc and new DeatschWerks 550cc injectors were cleaned professionally by a shop. Before reassembling everything, I tested the fuel flow by running the pump output into a container at the fuel filter location - flow looked good. I then fitted the new fuel filter and reassembled the rest of the system. Fuel Flow Test.mp4 Test 1 - 550cc injectors Ran the new fuel pump with its supplied diagonal strainer (different from OEM’s flat strainer) and my 550cc injectors using the same resized-injector map I had successfully used before. At first, it idled roughly and stalled when I applied throttle. Checked the spark plugs and found that they were fouled with carbon (likely from the earlier overly rich running when the injectors were clogged). After cleaning the plugs, the car started fine. However, it would only idle for 30–60 seconds before stalling, and while driving it would feel like a “fuel cut” after a few seconds - though it wouldn’t fully stall. Test 2 – Strainer swap Suspecting the diagonal strainer might not be reaching the tank bottom, I swapped it for the original flat strainer and filled the tank with ~45L of fuel. The issue persisted exactly the same. Test 3 – OEM injectors To eliminate tuning variables, I reinstalled the OEM 270cc injectors and reverted to the original map. Cleaned the spark plugs again just in-case. The stalling and “fuel cut” still remained.   At this stage, I suspect an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, caused during the cleaning process. This has led me to look into getting Frenchy’s fuel hanger and replacing the unit entirely. TL;DR: Cleaned and restored the fuel system (tank, lines, rail, pump). Tested 550cc injectors with the same resized-injector map as before, but the car stalls at idle and experiences what feels like “fuel cut” after a few seconds of driving. Swapped back to OEM injectors with original map to rule out tuning, but the issue persists. Now suspecting an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, possibly cause by the cleaning process.
