I'd be checking out VL and Skyline related workshops in your local area. Check if the guys at the shopping centre saw any tow trucks coming in. Something as big as that MUST be on one of their cameras that monitor the front entrances etc.

Also, during compliance they would have taken down your engine code etc, grab all that coz it might be helpful in finding it.

Guys, I can't believe this is happening.

I'm so sorry to hear that the car was stolen, but even as a shell at least you have your baby back.

Just a few things that I suggest:

1. If parking on street, always park where there is foot traffic, and car traffic

2. If parking on street, choose a spot that is visible AND where a tow truck cannot get into

3. Try and spot the money for a car park - better ten bucks here and there rather than lose your car.

Regards are careful, people

id get my ass a crackin and find out if theres footage of that truck in the shoppin centre like someonelse has suggested. report ur engine and vin number as stolen too in the off chance that a skyline comes up in the classifieds with an rb26 implant it can be traced when rego'ed....thats if its still in the state:D

Your Motec would have had a serial number, the crunts that stole your gear knew your car and have access to a workshop/ tow truck.

This sort of thing is seriously fu{ked up.

Make sure you come see me for a paging alarm Steve, that way you can kill them yourself if they try it again.

I NEVER leave my car for longer than 1/2 an hour alone, and only in busy carparks during the day. If i go out i go with some one else or take the wifes lancer. Not worth the heart ache. I feel for you man good luck with the rebuild.

i regard people that steal cars as the lowest life form, there scum, i hope you find these people and they are charged and locked up because they dont deserve to be living with in the community.

Congrates you got the shell back and good luck to you in building your future monster.

As alot of people have said got down all the numbers your can engine numbers and others.

Also contact the shopping center sercuity, police and vic roads about it being stolen.

    • Before I get to the test day, just to finish off the android head unit. This is a demo from car start up....the standard/host system takes a few seconds to boot (same as all v37) but Android comes up quickly. In this vid I'm using the delivered launcher but have set the default to Agami since which is easier to navigate when if use primarily 5 apps. You can see the host system still takes over when required eg putting it in reverse, and you can switch between Android and not by holding the back button 3 sec. It is pretty responsive (fast) but you can see I had to press harder than expected a couple of times.  I still have the phone connected to the stock system, and that also seamlessly takes over Android music playing. v37-android-demo.mp4 The bigger reason that I put this in though is so that I can use Ecutek directly on the head unit. That gives me a dash with logging (up to 20MB only), high and low value warnings on any parameter etc etc. I've run a USB cable from the Ecutek OBD dongle to a USB input on the unit, easy. v37-ecutek-demo.mp4   The unit did freeze on the launcher the other day, I think Agami was trying to verify the license when it didn't have a data connection...will monitor and report back if there are any other problems but so far I'm very happy with the upgrade.
    • Nah that is just crappy GPS mapping, I did have a small excursion (cold tyres, damp track, surprise!), will post up that when I get a chance.
    • So 10/10 times that code is coil packs? I mean if that's the case ill drop the $400USD or so to replace them. I didn't know these cars threw codes before the issue became an issue.
