oh and lots of interesting tech/art talk on here re photography

Nice one Pat, I think it would have looked even better if you were given better machinery and if there was a delayed exposure so the traffic crossing in front of the 180 created some light trails. But you had the eye to pick out that shot and it looks good.

Awesome work on the calendar Matt. I love that shot with the R35 and DR GTR. Also, I know Jez was pretty stoked with his large format print of that shot, and getting Jim and Fred to sign it at Legends.

Wedding photos I took today...SAU cars represent

god i hope i can get half the turn out some of these weddings are getting, will have to snag one of you guys to do the pics too, and have some SAU rides turn up for eye candy...all pretty far fetched at this point as a while off from even having a steady gf.

Still a guy can dream right?

damn that sounded a bit metrosexual :turned:

Yo

so i've been a bit busy, haven't picked up camera for anything special for a few weeks... here is why.

Getting this bad boy organised.

By the box load ;)

any plans to head out to that tunnel where Matt (?) got a cool shot of his bike?

oh and i also took this shot in the rain on monday, any good? no car behind it and a bigger depth of field would of helped i think?

DO WANT!

You can follow the link in my Sig if you haven't already. They'll be heading to post office tomorrow for delivery :)

Yeah, that was J that took that tunnel shot, I've love to shoot there though. I need to get out and about some more and find some new locations. Need some more variation.

Do a shoot there Jay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah Adelaide is a bit of a hike for a photo shoot though..im presuming thats where it is?

must find a local tunnel...some of the giant storm drains that run through Alexandria and Sydenham might be cool too. Yeah Matt, fire off one of those calenders to me while your at the post office please, is my address on some database you guys have?

yeah south of adelaide. being on a bikeway its got bollards to stop cars going through tho. it looks like they can be circumvented pretty easy, but not sure how well a lowered car would go as i reckon it would involve some kerb hopping. might have another look tonight and see how hard it would be to access by car. alternative would be to contact the council to get keys, not sure how accommodating they would be.

hey i was there yesterday too! was with an SAU bro and his mates hachi roku who stuck to the skid pan and peanut track, got lots of video which im not sure i will get around to uploading but had a great time.

Didnt get to see much of the action on the main track so thanks for the shots Matt, great stuff!!

I sent him a link to some flickr stuff over facey. See what happens but it would be f'ing ace to cover a scene I love.

dude you will have no problems whatsoever!

they published some of my stuff a couple of years ago, the quality of your shots are only like a million times better ;)

    • would a r34 gtr hood line up with gt/gtt stock fenders? after latch, front bumper and hinges are swapped for gtr ones? or would the fenders be too low or high in relation to the hood surface? ( I believe seeing somewhere that gtr front fenders use some type of riser for the sides, but do not know how that relates to stock gt/gtt fenders.)
    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
