Man I love those cam & tune packages that add 100rwkw they are just the bomb!

It's just a pity they don't exist!

Dunno what mean by they don't exist cause they sure as hell did when I got mine done.

Stock vx clubby 255kw at the fly. Made around 190 atw

In went OTR CAI, mafless tune, cam, 228 duration ( can't remember LSA, 112 or something) exhaust was already done though headers wernt ideal and had standard cats

Made 285 rwkw out of an LS1 with 130,000 km

Pretty sure it can be done.

Happy dyno's in my opinion - I've tuned countless ls1 ls2 l98 all the way up to ls7 with varying sizes of cams and I've never seen that kind of power on our dyno. I've made upward of 350rwkw but it's always been with cubes (427) and large cams 238@50 and beyond.

STD ls2 auto with exh and tune will make around the 230-240rwkw mark with a cai and similar size cam 225@50 you will only see around the 280rwkw mark with low rpm torque loss!

I tend to agree,

Most Cam/Spring/exhaust LS1's I have seen make 280-290 and depending what cam are lopey as hell

L98's have much better heads though (bigger ports and valves than an LS2) So 300+ isnt out of the question imo

my mates ls1 ute has a tune/exhaust/spring/ otr/ cam in the upper 230's at .50, it makes 270rwkw through a auto.

other mate has a vx with a l98 conversion, with same stuff but a 237/242 cam it makes 330rwkw on a mainline with a manual.

for the dollar spent compared to the old stuff they are great!

cheers

They do have larger ports and valves but I've never really noticed any difference in power out of the box and they seem to respond the same amount once cammed as well. Its all about port velocity just ask nathan higgan what he does with the heads. Aspirated performance isn't about bigger is better - unless your talking about cubes!

PS - everybody's got a mate with LS that makes a sqillion hp. I just find it funny that cars I've tuned with similar mods to other cars but with 50rwkw less seem to keep up!

do it! there is a reason nissan went from the vq30tt to a vk45de in there gt500 car, and in gt1. sounds like arse but goes great. no lag, flat torque curve. and it will do 100k befor any rebuild is needed. t56 box is also tough as nails. abit slow shifting but strong.

also whats the go with engineering these days?

If you can pull it off, go for it. sounds good.

No Replacement for Displacement.

Price of engine Sounds so dodgy..

P.s i have nothing against the V8 Swap...apart from it being a dirty ChevGM motor lol

its goin to cost ALOT of money for this conversion unless u can do the fab work yourself, but dont get discouraged as the benefits are worth the effort. the simpicity of an NA V8 means alot less stuff to go wrong and so much torque everywhere!

    • Thank you, 100% the intent. New coils were due and the 17" sixers look/feel loads better than the stock wheels. The aero options are so spot on.   Thanks for the warm welcome, all!
    • 98 r34 gtt Been rocking my latest setup and car running like never before. Have put a good 200 miles on it since all the latest changes and additions. everything is dialed in and have been driving it a bunch.   However, all a sudden last weekend as soon as I pushed throttle passed 4k and the engine stumbles, (slow or fast acceleration) hesitates and doesn’t go above 4100 or so, like a misfire. Everything else seems fine. I had a “good” set of coil packs that I removed from car when I first got it when I changed them over to new coils. I swapped out current ones for those, but no change. I also changed the plugs, no change. Seems to rev over 4 when out of gear with no load just fine no “misfire”, but as soon as its in gear with a load of any kind, it “misfires” as soon as rpm drop back below 4 k it runs perfectly, smooth, starts, restarts and drives fine as long as I keep it below 4 k while in gear. All readings look fine, no CEL   Any idea as to what could all a sudden cause an issue when pushing rpms passed 4 k?
    • When you say your cams are 272/262 is that 272in and 262ex?
    • We're arguing semantics. I am saying 45 accel and a 55 deccel ramp are "2 ways". Even a 45 degree ramp and an 89 degree ramp is "2 ways", because it is literally... two ways. The cusco 55/30 ramp is a 2 way. It's two ways. I get it though - in normal nomenclature a "2 way" would be 45/45 or 55/55 or 60/60 i.e the same locking in both directions. And something like 45/65 would be considered "1.5 way". I would then say if we're getting into the nitty gritty then every locking diff is a "2 way" diff and we should not speak in 1.5, or 2 ways but ramp angles instead. Which ofc if one of those ramp angles is 90deg, that side is not doing any locking. :p So Nismo don't obviously sell 3 things. The fact of the matter that they only sell two items really goes to show that there's a 2 way and a "1,5 way" which is really a 1 way. I believe the actual lockup for the 'adjustability' of the GT pro is really just setting preload for when the ramps actually start locking up. It's not changing how much 'wayness' there is. It is (somehow) horribly explained. People just buy whatever diff and go "locks up good bruh" and that's what ends up on socials forever.
