Im looking for a computer for my 32 Gtst but it is so hard to find anything that isnt a big $ racing set up.

I dont want to flash the chip cos its expensive in the long run (retune everytime i change somethig) and no handset with all the cool stuff on it.

Apexi power fc is what i want but its very hard to find, nearly got a new one from a bloke in japan, but it was put in some show car, so close yet so far.

Does anyone know about Link G4? They say i can get one but ive never heard of anyone using one on a 32 Gtst.

I think the motor is really lacking without it, considering the cams and turbo are upgraded.

uh... no matter what ECU you have, if you make modifications you will need to have it retuned.

That is part and parcel of making modifications.

The same G4 plug in Link suits the R33 or R32 but Nistune will be a cheaper option. Any ecu needs to be retuned when you mod your engine.

If you have already upgraded the turbo and cams with the stock ecu not only are you missing out on the potential gains you are also risking your engine.

I think he was more talking about the need to pull and burn chips to achieve that retune, which is the most annoying part of chipped ECU tuning.

Hmmmm...

Well shes running rich and i never rev it over about 5000.

And i live in canberra so im limited to what the local tuners can tune, waiting to hear back from them.

I would pay for an apexi.

Well see about nistune.

Nistune.

and if you want to see a display - get an ecudatascan device.

I've got that combo in my R32.

http://ecudatascan.com.au/store.html

it can display like 10 or 12 parameters from an R32 GTST.

Also can be a GPS

and do lap timing for tracks and you can actually build your own track image in to it etc etc.

Cant get Nistune done here, i got quoted $3200 for a new Haltech setup with map sensor and tuned, im sure its good but too expensive for me. He also recommended bigger injectors, more $$$.

Maybe i have to take it to Sydney for a Nistune?

Is the Nistune up to the job? How well can it be tuned?

This is turning out to be much more difficult than i thought, so ill tell you whats on my car and maybe you (Sydney tuners) or someone you know can tune it properly.

R32 gtst manual (converted from auto)

Fmic

Rb25 turbo

Unknown cams (probably tomei poncams)

Pod filter

Cat back exhaust

Thermo fan

Should i get:

Split dump

3" cat

Adjustable cam gears

Bosch fuel pump

Or what bits do you guys recommend?

I would go to Sydney if ican get it done properly in one go. Want to do it ALL for under $4000.

as a guide.

my car has:

pod

turbo back exhaust

fuel pump

15psi on stock turbo

nistune

makes 160rwkw

so with an RB25 tubo you'll get around 10-15% more at the same boost (roughly)

not sure how much difference the cams and cam gears will make.

Definitely finish off the exhaust and do the fuel pump.

I don't think it will need bigger injectors if the turbo you are going to use is an RB25 one.

nistune is up to the task mate.

in some ways, more so than a PFC.

Canberra is only like 3 hours away from sydney

organise a day with a tuner and drive down for it.

    • 4 to 5 is fine. It will be slow, but that's better than blowing turbos. I don't have a PS pump idle up solenoid on my car, because... I think when we put the Neo in we retained my R32 lines. But.... From inspecton of the R34 vacuum hose diagram, you can see that the solenoid needs to be connected to the turbo inlet as source of clean air) and the plenum (as source of vacuum - which is the place for the air to flow to to cause the idle to increase). So 3 to 1 is VERY WRONG. 3 should go to either the turbo inlet, or the plenum. Follow the other hose from the PS solenoid and if it goes to the plenum, then your 3 goes to 2 2 would also serve as a bleed port for a boost solenoid.
    • Pull them out and pull more apart. You can't do shit with them still bolted to the floor of the car.
    • Yes it is. ZD1 is on the other side of the board. Where ZD1 is marked is clearly opposite a 2 pin device. Our 3 pin device here is not a ZD.
    • Alright, a little update on this... I called Fulcrum, who used to be the distributor in Australia. No Bueno, they don't service them anymore.  Called shock works, who don't service them but offered to dyno the shocks for performance, and suggested DNA in Sydney might service them.  Called DNA, who also do not service them and basically said they try to steer customers away from tein for this exact reason these days- there is just no support for them anymore apparently.  Both SW and DNA said they are a not necessarily a bad product, but they just don't service the brand or know anyone who does service the brand anymore.  So... I could keep calling around but at this point I think I'll probably just spring for the shockworks product, unless anyone here knows anything.  Cheers 🍻
    • That's not a transistor --- it's marked ZD1 which makes it a zener diode. As to what the breakdown voltage is, not enough there to divine.
