Because of the heat, fibreglass flexes in the heat and warps, its cracked along the the edge where the headlights are.

metal guards as well as a coupe tail light conversion is being considered.

this happens due to incorrect fitment of the fibreglass guards...Take it to someone that knows what they are doing

Nice update!! This thing needed a 26!!

When you had popped out your rear window, did you have to buy new rear window seals?

yep, needed new seals. opted for the generic ones for now, ill be redoing all genuine seals when its redone again with metal guards, hows your wide body going?

Got all mine from the von bibra nissan in QLD, still available and surprisingly cheap

He's done a few mr2/ferrari kits and they've all come out perfect, he's gonna redo it soon, but yeah, ill be getting steel guards made up and cutting the old metal guards. That way, its stronger, I can run 10.5s without being worried ill smash the guards and no ripples!

male stripper.

I've just painted my engine bay, about to get 26 in and rest of driveline all up and running. Then I will tackle the widebody and paint it myself. April is the deadline.

I'm going to try moulded like yours first, if it fails then I'll cut some out of a GTR coupe and do it like the guy did with that BMW wagon.

I've just got a low km 26 out of an unmodified 93 model 32 half cut. I will build it when it goes pop, which I'm hoping wont be for a little while at least. I'll start a build thread when the motor is in so I dont thread steal from you anymore! lol

What specs are you building your motor to, turbo etc?

Sweet!

I'm going forged rods and pistons, balanced crank, block work as usual, light headjob.

ill be running rebuilt lemans turbos with stock piping, airbox and cooler, expecting 320kw.

raised the car today, fixed my headlight and exhaust leak so ready for rwc on Friday.

also called up some engineering places to get some metal guards made up.

so my beater came past today for a smoko/coffee/talk some shit.

had a look at the car, and he isnt happy with it, pretty much said i really should go metal.

so once its registered, ill start looking for some clean GTR rear guards to chop up

Looks good. It took a lot of effort to get mine right

I love your car!

how did you overcome the cracks and ripples?

Congrats dude

Naow skid.

thanks boys, I did take it for a thrash Jesse.

rego is on Monday then back to the panel beaters to finish off the paint, fix the cracks etc

so i was on my way to vicroads, literally turned out of work car park, turned the corner and stutututututerrrrrr... the car just konked out...

i pushed it to the mechanic next door to my shop(who thankfully knows RBs inside and out) and turns out the stale fuel + very few starts over a year and the hot weather have cooked the plugs. drained the tank, new plugs, fresh 98 and its purring again. but it was missing on boost so i taped up the coil packs for now and its fine!

having missed my appointment i was furious.

but.

with every low theres a bigger high.

her names sarah, and she wants to play :)

    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
