If you're on a budget just go a Kando T67 or TD06, Yellow Jackets will be fine, run series 2 yellowjackets because they have built in ignitor's. Injectors 1000cc Injector Dynamics, cheapest ive found so far are from Lewis Engines. Plenums...depending on budget, ebay FFP, greddy FFP, plazmaman plenum to keep you're long runners. Throttle body 80mm is MAX you'll need. Exhaust manifold, porting will cost almost as much as a 6boost.

EDIT:

injectors flowing more than 500cc/min are usally low impedance injectors because of the faster response times of the peak and hold pattern

and it depends what fuel rail you run, most common is 11mm and you cant beat ID injectors.

Depends how set you are on 300+kw at the wheels.

You can get near enough with stock manifolds (inlet and exhaust). A GT3076 will bolt to the stock manifold with a spacer. If you do want a front facing intake your stock throttle body will be fine for 300kw++

What kind of Stagea ecu do you have? If it has two rows of pins it can't be Nistuned. If it has three rows (like an R34) it can. But I would save the money not spent on manifiolds (at this stage anyway) and buy a Link/Vipec - then you won't need any kind of afm and will not need to update your ecu again.

I have a mines chipped stagea ecu & a r33 s2 ecu that can be nistuned. So you reckon link/vipec are better than the haltec sprint 500?

I'm not really keen on buying another ecu seeing as I have the r32 one, a mines stagea one, an r33 one & the haltec haha.

As for manifolds I'm going eBay forward facing ($200) with billet fuel rail & getting my stock exhaust manifold ported for free off a mate.

Will one 040 do my fuel needs of 300awkw on e85? I'm keen on an intank pump, any reccomendations? 2 040's?

Cheers

The asterix next to r33 means that there are conditions... On the nistune website scroll down and read the asterix and you'll find you need to use a z32 ecu or rb20 ecu.

Z32 will keep Vct and rb20 ecu will need an rpm window switch to keep Vct.

As for fuel pumps, have you considered an 044 Bosch pump mounted intank?

I've seen plenty of r33 ecus nistuned??

he is on drugs :) no r33 nistune. Guilt toy is a big fan of the sprint 500's, he uses quite a few nowadays he may be worth a PM.

Im still a LINK fan ($1550 - 1650)

You will need more than 15psi to get 300 .... and as far as reliablity goes it will be fine as long as your tuner knows what thry are doing best ecu and setup is useless if your tuner has half a brain .... Pick a shop and see what ecu thry prefer is a good idea .... honestly the better ecu with maffless tune will save u cash on the z32 so will be around the same money if u work it out..... my mate runs rb25 stock bottom end with cams 256 cam gear gt35r turbo haltech pro pluin reloacated stock tb on factory mani for forward facing and yellow jacket coils for 344rwkw on 22psi safe tune for drifting wheel spining on the dyno in top rpm tuned by JEM on E85 hope that helps :)

I stand corrected! Wondered what was the go with the *1..,

Blitz so what injectors + fuel pump is your mate running??

Im after the walbro intank 400lph (walbros biggest) and 1000cc injectors.... Overkill for my setup?

That's going to be pretty much my exact setup. 344 @ 22 surely I'd be atleast near 300 on 15/16 with a fresh buit motor + port clean up etc?

so 3076 seems the turbo of choice? and 300awkw hard to reach on 15psi even with fresh motor, + haltec + cams + e85?

if your wondering why 300, because thats about the limit of my budget + pretty much the limit of reliable streetable driving IMO / unforged rb25 limit (yes?)

decided on 15psi (/1bar) because thats all i want to run, not really keen on 20psi and getting mad numbers, and another motor in 6 months time.

topic probs should have read "after the most power i can get reliably on 15psi

Whether you run 15psi or 25 psi makes no difference to the reliabilty or longevity of your engine (supposing that you are running a turbo within its design limits) - that's down to the maximum power, and as you say 300kw is often quoted as a sensible limit for a stock block motor, the way its driven and maintained and most importantly the tune.

Plus boost control kit, iat sensor xs harness :) wicked bits of gear

i dont use the boost kits in 99% of cases tbh. i include the IAT for that price. Generally most guys wont need the xs harness either.

True about the xs harness. Do u not Like the boos control kits?

They are fine, i just prefer a simple wet and dry boost setting via EBC with peak recall and warnings etc. If the car has a digi dash etc then internal boost control is best.

These are my preferences everyone is different.

WTF is with all this talk of MAF-less tunes? Thought I was on a Holden or Ford foum for a sec.

As stated a few times now, youre still not understanding that no turbo is going to do 300 on 14psi. Whether you have 10psi or 30psi wound in, 300kw still has the same amount of stress on the engine. The only difference is the setups tendency to become dangerous or damage the engine. No a 3540 wont do 300 on 14psi and it would be a laggy sack of shit if it did.

Also if youve checked the RB25 Upgrade thread you would see that stock 25s can easily run 300-350 all day every day. Shit, theres a thread dedicated to it. So with your built one, im sure itll be fine at 300 if the tune is good, and youve got the added security and ease of making power with E85.

Go the 3076 and wind 20psi in. Itll be everything youre after.

He has a port clean up done rebuilt motor wont add power u still need to run 20psi ish depending as its in thr turbos efficency range dont be afraid it wont hurt it its the tune that will good tune will be fine with that power level .... he has twin intank walbro 255 pumps and 750cc high flow injectors from pj no 1000s will be fine

Never said14psi. If im struggeling for the numbers im after ill go higher but not going to 20psi. But for the sake of it, take boost out of the equation. It's irrelevant I guess anyway.

Yes I have checked the rb25 upgrade thread, but I'm after info more specific. My iphone won't show the dyno sheets + saw pages & pages of stock turbo, stock ecu, stock inj etc which I'm not interested in.

- is the tomei poncam 256 with 8.5mm lift a good choice for easy drop in mid range power? Or should I go more aggressive?

Thanks all

    • For these last 7 years of ownership, I've always had to use a small scissor jack under one of the front tow hooks to raise the front just enough so my low-profile jack fits under to reach my subframe jack point. I'm beginning to get annoyed of always having to do this. Are there any lower low-profile jacks that fit under the gtr lip on a dropped car?
    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
