Hey everyone, I have a 32 gtst m spec with the 4 pot brakes and 2 pot rear!! I am looking to do a brake upgrade.. So I did some research and have found I can put a adapter in and run a bigger rotor, but I am alittle confused if I can do it with these calipers!! And I also want to no if the adapter brings the caliper out towards the inside of the rim, because I have a bee's dick Clearence as it is!! I am also worried about caliper to rim Clearance!!

Thanks is advanced!!

There are adapters to suit the R32 calipers to convert from a 280mm disc (R32 size) out to a variety of common sizes, including the 324mm Brembo Skyline disc size. If they are made right, then the caliper stays centred on the disc and does not change position. Only moves outward radially.

Personally, I would rather get some R33 calipers as a basis, as the R32 calipers are flexy and groany (by comparison). The R33 are stiffer. Then you need different adapters, because R33 calipers have longer legs.

Do a search. This has been covered 40 gazillion times.

sorry for thread jacking, but i have a 32 gts 4 and fancy going for a brake upgrade.

I'm wanting to keep the car for road use, but want to get the weight down everywhere i can.

So,

Floating discs for an r33 gtr:

What parts do i need from a 33gtr?

Those(or similar)

Calipers

Carriers (Brackets)

Pads

Brake lines?(or are they the same)

And would these be any heavier, bare in mind the discs should be lighter?

Also will they fit under 17's

Any help would be greatly appreciated

To suit that rotor you neither either:

A: The R33 GTR caliper (that is all), or the R32 GTR Brembo caliper - same same.

B: Use the GKTech adapters with the R32 gtst sumitomo calipers.

You cannot use the R33 GTST caliper unless you use different adapters (Unique auto sports).

I would not buy those eBay rotors as there is no indication who manufactured the disc or the hat. Therefore they could be yum cha made from recycled cardboard. The DBA 4000 ones would be first choice. I wouldn't even get slotted rotors if I could avoid it.

Can't tell you if you'd need different lines, but it is possible.

Im not sure what the cost of a pair of brembo calipers are, but it seems false economy to buy the adapters. Surely you could sell the sumitomo's and recoup some of the expense of the brembo's. For less than $116 for the adapters. According to the link, the brembo's have a bigger piston area, and i'd imagine they are easier on the eye.

Thanks for you're help

GTSBoy yeah i noticed afterwards looking back on them. For some reason i thought they were AP's :domokun:

A set of 2nd hand set Brembo's, front and rear go from around $1800.

You could sell a set of Skyline Sumitomo's (turbo model) anywhere from $150 - $250.

Yes, Brembo's have larger piston area.

Those rotor adapters are just so you can run a 324mm (Brembo) size rotor but still keep your stock calipers.

Running bigger rotors will allow a higher heat range so your brakes do not over heat as quickly.

Oh wow i didnt think the brembo's and the sumi's would vary in price that much.

I'm still on pom prices.

Undecided now.

Thanks for your help.

Yeah, just have a look at the For Sale section.

The price differences are quite a bit.

If you fancy a brake upgrade, start with:

New brake pads / Slotted rotors / HEL Metal Braided Brake Lines / Brake Master Cylinder Stopper.

If you still want Brembo Calipers, I believe the R32 GTR V-Spec / V-Spec II and R33 GTR calipers are all interchangeable.

Re-build the calipers and do what I listed above, but obviously buy the Pads and Rotors for Brembo size calipers.

Yes prices are in AUS Dollars :)

The question is on what grounds have you decided you want/need a brake upgrade?

If its performance then what is the current problem you are experiencing. If its part fashion/aesthetics (not having a shit, its part of the reason why I like big brakes) then its hard to go past the bracket and rotor upgrade with some nice performance street pads.

    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
