OK, as I mentioned I wasn't that impressed with the Vivid Festival this year, but on the way into the city I used the opportunity to make sure my new GoPro was working - I bought one last year and it died completely (wouldn't turn on at all), so it was replaced under warranty.

It's my first attempt at a time-lapse, and more an experimentation than anything else. It could have been much better, but it could have been much worse too. Apparently the HD Hero2 deals with low light a lot better than the original. I might buy one later on to supplement this one...

Anyway...

Dan - Lovely portrait there!!! Keen to see more. Just watch the light bleeding from the flash you used to light up the background.

I think I'll try putting up some foam core temp walls to stop the leaking light. Waiting on two more elinchrom units to use so it will help.

Had a go at the car lights thing for the 1st, didnt have the right equipment but thought id still have a crack anyway

Yeah, that's not bad at all. The beauty of taking these shots is that you don't really need any special equipment at all, beyond a camera that can take long exposures, and a tripod or something else that's steady to keep the camera from moving during the shot.

5-8 sec, wasn't too much traffic lol

Cheers

Could you have gone higher? 25 seconds or so?

The photo I did of my car on the last page was 25 Seconds I think, I changed halfway through and changed back

Nice shots. It's hard to take photos of boring things and make them look good when mucking around, good stuff....

Vivid.....

give tungsten white balance a go, or if you can set the K value manually try between 2000 and 3000

took this shot using RAW + JPG and was too lazy to process the RAW versions :P

    • thanks for the advice on the box... i was thinking the 6 speed was better for cruising on the highway but on closer inspection and comparison the Rb 5 speed box was not too different...  So the choice is going to be the RB25 box... if I can save up and find one at the right price
    • Thanks Matt, yes that's what i am aiming for. Just going to apply the right voltage and grounds to the dash connector. Hence my search for these pins... any chance you know if these pins are in the same spot as the ones on the S15 Dash connector? as mentioned above on page 8?
    • Yes, unfortunately that's the one. Signal was noisy to begin with; after driving once and looking back at the logs I saw pressure constantly swinging between 0-200psi, or staying at 0 randomly for a few seconds. There's a lot of good sensors that share the same look and feel, so don't presume they're all bad. I bought mine for 20$ off Amazon and I should have read the reviews prior, as it's clear they're junk.  I purchased a lowdollerr motorsports sensor.
