After a lengthy wait thanks to DOTARS and DEH while the specifics of the new

De-gassing legislation were sorted, the MR2 is finally in my hands. For those interested, the service given by Prestige was excellent, the car arrived as described (with added dirt & filth from transport) and its lots of fun to drive.

Hey blitz,

Did the vehicle come str8 to pyrmont or did u go down to melbourne to pick it up?

And whats the deal with the air-con did u have to do it on-site at the warf b4 u get your hands on the car?.. If so how much did it cost to do?..

Have to find out a bit more about this new air-con legislation.. As one of my mates is thinking of doing it soon. But if the air-con prob gonna be a bitch then he might pass.

Ceffo: Car was delivered to Glebe Island dock - I drove straight in and picked it up.

Regarding aircon, the cars with the old non-compliant gas have to be de-gassed prior to shipping, with confirmation paperwork supplied and a copy of this should be sent to your customs agent if you are using one.

Its no big deal, there were just carying stories going round after I purchased te MR2 so we needed to confirm exactly what the process was before sticking it on the boat.

From memory the de-gass is around $150.00 but if you buy a car from Prestige this cost is already factored into the total cost of the car.

lwells, yep - car is being serviced, detailed and rego'd then offered for sale for the right price IF I decide against it as my daily driver.

I wasnt a huge fan of the styling either, but the combination of a small & nible car, targa top, supercharged etc etc was too good to pass up

My neighbour got one just recently .. he imported under 15 year rule.. sweet ride..

It was looking veeerrryy old school.. had a full kit, suspension. 16'' mags .. he said it cost him 10K on road.

Funny thou how his wife drives a 2000 model BMW and he drives a car that is 15 years old.. :)

cef.

    • Today, I'm a Breville BES920 tech, new triac board and new 3x way solenoid. Had overheating issues, home RCD tripping when it got warm, and the boiler stayed on when the machine was shut off. Also, usually 3x way solenoid chatter, this is the 3rd time I'm replacing it. Mind you, this machine is 9 year old and send it every day doing at minimum 3x double shots. When the in laws come over to took after my daughter, it will easily see 6x double shots in a single day. Tried to be somewhat compliant, crimped and then used a screw connector over the top. Would have preferred to use heat shrinks.   After all that, turns out all the overheating has damaged the o-rings to the steam tap as well. Ordered new ones, coming soon.
    • Still got it- First time checking sau in a while ahhaha
    • I don't know about that. I can hoon my R32 around - hard launches, high lateral Gs - with <<1/4 tank without any such shenanigans. This with the previous 040 and the current GSS342. I would suspect a fuel line problem. One of the hoses associated with the top of the tank perhaps.
    • This is amazing. Love that you’re giving the boys an intro to cars and off the screens. They probably have an insta for the car and build posts on TikTok for their mates.
    • It is.  Your car works fine with the tank full. If you drive like a Nana it works fine.  You give it a boot full with half a fuel tank, you get surge.  It 100% is a fuel surge issue. Maybe have a look at installing a Hydramat if you don't want to install a surge tank.  https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/hydramat/
