Hey all.

I have been speaking to Pete from Hypertune about having a plenum made to suit my car. Also thinking about back to back testing it vs the plazmaman that I currently have on my RB25. Then thought if all goes well a few more of you guys would probably be interested in one.

Hes willing to offer a group buy also, and actually making a production run on Hypertune RB25 plenums.

I've told Pete that I'll let this run for a week or so and see the interest it generates and get back to him and it will be decided from there.

This is where we are at so far. I also added pictures he sent to me.

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the call yesterday.

Some pics attached of what we currently make for the RB25.

We are thinking of making a more "production" version and this might be a good opportunity to do it. It will still look very similar to the one pictured.

It will look quite similar to the one pictured but rather than use part of the standard manifold we would machine a billet head flange.

I've come up with 4 different manifold options:

1. Inlet manifold to suit standard TB (or existing TB) and standard fuel rail

2. Inlet manifold to suit standard TB (or existing TB) + billet fuel rail to suit top feed injectors

3. Inlet manifold + Hypertune 90mm TB + to suit standard fuel rail

4. Inlet manifold + Hypertune 90mm TB + billet fuel rail to suit top-feed injectors

I'd like to sell 10 units - a combination of any of the 4 options would be fine. Since we'd be selling 10, I'll price them at 25-30% below retail price also. I haven't quite worked out what retail price would be but with the manufactugin techniques I have in mind I'm hoping they will come out considerably cheaper than our current line of intakes without compromising performance. We will still use the same plenum as the one pictured.

Let me know what you think so far.

Regards,

Pete Lewin | Hypertune

That's gorgeous. If I didn't already have a Plazmaman plenum on mine then I'd be thinking about that.

Out of interest, what setup would you be doing back to back testing on? Ie. what turbo, head setup, power levels, etc??

Back to back testing on my car.

RB25, CP pistons, Nitto I beams, Envy Dyno head, Platinum products 272/278 cams, Supertech solid lifter conversion, valves, springs, etcetc. gt3788 turbo, 0.99rear, 6boost mani, 50mm gate, 3.5in exhaust, Haltech platinum pro, E85.. limit is 10,300rpm, 34psi. Gets tuned in a few weeks with the plazmaman manifold so I will let you know on figures IF all goes to plan. Expecting to get very very close to 700hp.

(Getting more cash together, just bought a F1A procharger kit for my XR8 so things are tight at the moment - my tow car lol)

EOI's without firm pricing (inline with the rules) - never end up going anywhere because everyone dreams and says "I'm in", ask for cash, you get no responses.

I'll give this till Friday, but then it will be closed and once the rules are ready to be followed, a thread can be started in the correct area with the required information (it's like that for a reason :))

Yep, agree! Thats fine.

Figured I'd put it here just so more people are made aware of this quicker. Will go through the appropriate channels and post it up in the right section when we have a rough idea on numbers interested and the final pricing and timeframe.

Thanks for leaving it.

Speaking with Pete last night.

He is going to quote me the normal price and a SAU group buy price today!

Will get the appropriate break down of costs IE plenum with throttle body and fuel rail, plenum without throttle body, plenum and fuel rail. etc etc..

When have all the exact info, will post up a proper group buy.

Again this is here just to generate more interest.

Thanks,

Matt

HI Guys

Just to let you know that is my car in the pic. I am very pleased with the work that these guys do and although i dont have dyno figures to prove the product i can tell you it did add a big differance in performance. There is a little work to fitting them as in moving your Idel control valve to a remote position and using a 300zx throtle cable but other then that they do bolt stright up and you will also be able to run top feed injectors. The boys at hypertune are very good at what they do and alot of the very big cars around the world run there stuff.

    • No updates on the car but figured I'd share a nice outing. All the recent work paid off and I got it all together and out the shed for a car based pre-wedding celebration for a good mate of mine. Pretty casual cruise through the hills to a pub for lunch then out for some go-karting at The Bend. Headed down to Myponga for the night We stopped in at the reservoir before heading out down to the coast for lunch via the dam  By the end of the weekend away I covered 350km and the 32 generally behaved its self. • The front prop shaft from my GTR had very notchy unis, which obviously needed replacement but unfortunately uses the (usually) non-replaceable (staked) type.     A new shaft is something like $2K plus shipping from Japan.   I wouldn't even bother asking the local Nissan spares dept.     Rang Hardy Spicer but no go, which surprised me a little.     There's a place over Dandenong way that would make me a 'performance' shaft but un-necessary in my situation.   They claimed to be getting the equipment in to replace staked unis but couldn't give me a timeframe.   Anyway, long story short, found a place to do the work just 5 mins from me: https://knoxdriveshafts.com.au $420 (cash) and about a week later I have my driveshaft back.   Price includes balancing. Owner is a one man band working out of a shed in his backyard but from what I could see he's very well setup with some expensive equipment.
