Ok so im looking to have work done

major service

custom exhaust work

tuning

problem diaognostics,

gearbox swaps

engine head work.

and the list as always goes on

Im a bit Pissed today at BOOST WORX

now this isnt a rant and they have been good in the past.

however i booked my car in with 2 weeks advance for a much needed service and the illegal screamer piper plumbed in on my 32 daily

on holidays so i could give the car up for a day which is very unusual for me.

i even sked if they have time can they get the thing on the dyno and get it tuned properly which is also much needed and was told yeah no dramas.

i really wanted these things done cos i rely on the car for my income and i do atleast 500km per week.

they had the car for 2 days no communication unless i rang them and nothing happened, the car wasnt touched at all.

they were not prepared to do sat work for me as they were working n bigger projects.the only solution was leave the car their untill monday and they would try to squeze me in maby. was funrious

apparently i dont spend enough money with them to be worth their while these days even though i need to spend thousands somewhere???, didnt even get the oil dropped.

i dont give a f**k if a shop has more interesting work to do, if i book in and pay then i want work done on time and done well.

i have a car with old oil in it an illegal screamer and wrong tune to get to workon now and not happy.

im now back at work in thebarton and need a workshop neer there which someone can vouch for

was thinking of mildrens? i think their mazda specialists?

are they good with nissans and nistunes and general good work?

sprry to the guy i know on these clubs who works their, i do not mean to bag a workshop but i have been left hanging for the second time now and im over it.

give Steve Cramp a ring he doesnt dyno tune but may be willing to do the rest of the mechanicals

i have used him in the past and very very reliable and very close to you

I've heard great things about Steve too, but re Boostworx - your list is rather large, and its not surprising that they might be wanting to get work out of the way before starting on a bigger job like yours. I would be surprised if anyone said that it was going to only take a day, as quite honestly some diagnostic stuff can take several days, and a full decent tune is not a 5 minute job. I've used Boostworx before and they've always done good work to my car so I've never really been bothered when they said they needed to spend more time on it - after all, a rushed job is no good for the business or the owner... quality work needs quality time. Sure you can take it to some other place and git'r'done on the quick but can you rely on that work? The poor man pays twice.

I know its a damn inconvenience when you dont get your car back on time but better to find a quality workshop that gets it right the first time rather than having to return multiple times. My previous workshop took 3 months to do a head gasket repair and refurbish whence they'd quoted 2 weeks - and at that stage it was 50% and I sent it to boostworx to get completed - incidentally they hadnt even started disassembling it so Ruby came and disassembled it for me, the champ that he is

Its not a case of more interesting work but more a matter of first come first served. Sometimes they just happen to get some difficult jobs that were booked out previously, that just happen to blow out their estimates and thats all there is to it. Shit happens

In either case, I'm still happy to use Boostworx, as I'm happy to use Wilall. Manta are 101% quality from what I've heard and I'm sure you'll be satisfied with his work.

^^ quiet true

just think you quote jobs up for people and wrong parts get sent from suppliers you then have to reschedule your whole workshop cause some crackhead cant read a purchase order

Want a job done right you always gotta do it yourself... Do whatever you can on that list that you can do and then a workshop to finish it off

True indeed. Though if you're entirely clueless like me, you need to pay someone to do it for you ;)

Please don't bring Willall Racing into this - we have never performed work on your car. Our booking and completion system is thoroughly organized and professional.

well i didnt have allot of work booked in but allot on the cards,

all i booked was a basic service and a scramer plumbed in,

supprised when i aked if they would have time to do a tune if possible on was told yes,

my point is not to bag its to find a sollution.

i no longer have time or want to spend time trying to get the car to a place where i cannot be garanteed a result.

i need someone with work as good and neer thebarton where i can get my car worked on properly.

anyone know a shop their with nissan experiance

If it helps your cause they have had to push 5 cars back (including mine which I gave the ok) due to the amount of work and commitments they've had over the past 2 weeks. In regards to others Steve Cramp is a big plus and his maticulous - did my dad's Targa based GT-R.

"Bring into this?" - what? I was giving you a recommendation Martin. The only reason you haven't done work on my car is due to the bung clutch that prevented you doing a dynotune. I've had no issues with Willall, nor has anyone I've met - so would you like me to not recommend people to go and see you? Incidentally, I'm still interested in getting a tune sometime. One day when I find the motivation to get things fixed.

Always nice to know that there are mechanics out there that know what customer service still means. no? ;)

  • 3 weeks later...

also went back to BW and had some of the work done, as awlays hapy with their work.

it is weird having a shop thats not used to strict deadlines and daily driven work hours cars. they dont seem to like having the constraints

Shaun is working some serious hours at the moment. I had my car in for a service last week along with replacing the rear rack ends and front uprights and he was working from 7:30am to 9pm at night. Im pretty sure they are at least one man down at the moment and flat out.

Jaustech.

Great guys, know their shit and have had them put themselves out to help me and mates out in the past. A few weeks ago Anthony came out to tailem bend on a sunday for a private drift day to touch up the tunes on a few peoples cars because their dyno was having issues. if that doesnt speak for commitment i dont know what does.

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
