Sorry I misunderstood, buy a modded gtst and sell the mods, then put a gtr top end on a 3.0 litre. Might have been easier for you to buy the gtr and remove the front drive shaft if you want that gtr engineering without the added traction. While you were adding that gtr wing did you add other gtr access too such as seats and brembos? The thread started out comparing gtr's to big dollar euros - funny you dont see any gtst's being compared to these performance cars. You can haha all you like i'm to busy rolling aroud in stitches to get a haha out.

Why would I want to do that I want to run 10's not high 11's to low 12's

Yeah I agree funny how the thread has turned out as my 1st reply was to a comment about GTR not being beat and it seems that you GTR guys can't handle the idea of a gtst beating a GTR and why you don't see gtst's being compared to those performance cars is because gtst drivers don't have the ego that gtr drivers do and I bet every time a comparision is made it's by a GTR driver nothing like blowing you own whistle :P

Buster, sorry to say your skyline will get whooped by a GTR R33. just put 15psi and zorst the R will flog your ass.

hahaha thats the attitude I was waiting for, gotta love stupidity :P do youself a favour LaL and click here http://skylines.pnc.com.au/drags.html before you look any more stupid then you already do and tell me how many GTR's do you see on the list that are quicker then 11.7 or 128mph umm is that only 1 and its a $120k GTR I guess the others can't drive or haven't got 15psi and zorst in your opinion bwahahahaha

who spent 30K on there car just for mods ? hahah you dumb idiot.

i can put a bet about 99% of SAU will rather take a GTR then a GTST that can do 11.7 once. all the GT-Rs ive seen all did 12.0X or 11.9X on 17PSI,turbo back exhaust, pfc, and pods. which really isnt allot of money to spend to achieve that.

you can get a GTR like that for AROUND 35K now .

i bet you normally run low 12's.

Why do people think the GTR is the bee's knees of all cars? I'm no 1/4 mile expert so I won't compare there, but in terms of a track car, the Mclarens F1, Porsche 911 GT/2/3, etc... are in a class of their own. Next people will be comparing the GTR to Schumacher's F2004.

ahaha, this is funny, the GTR ISNT SHIT compair to EuroSuperCar, Im sorry but its true i love skylines and GTR, but the fact of the matter is i would rather be crusin in a Zonda or F50 then a GTR.

Yeah the GTR can do 12/11 stock soo wat?

and LaL "performance wise they arnt to good for the dollar."

u got to be joking right? get over yourself plz, yes u own a gtr and i think that is great, but it isnt a supercar

hahaha all the GTR's you've seen so you haven't done it yourself? whats the best time you've ran big shot or are you all talk about other peoples cars and full of sh*t with backing it up

Are you really 30 years old??? (or just a little smart arse 16 year old??)

Its actually quite amusing reading some of your posts.....

good luck trying to maintain a 10sec skyline on a low budget.

oh and good luck driving it in the wet (if you ever have a chance to be in a GTR like Leewahs, you will understand what traction with 600KW feels like on the road)

*sigh* this thread was about GTR's vs Euro cars stock for stock. NOT about GTR owners and NOT about how GTSt's can beat GTRs. I was hoping to find out about how GTR's stacked up against other supercars.

At the end of the day:

A skyline is not a factory built drag car. It is a circuit car.

A GTR WAS Nissan's trophy car, NOT the GTSt

ffs leave your ego's out of it and stay on topic, BU5TER, laL and others if you have anything constructve to add to the original post/question then keep posting in here, otherwise start a new thread about what you're bickering about in the Wasteland.

I'm dissapointed that after the 16th Post this potentially informative thread got flushed into the gutters.

Now, to contribute something towards the topic... which of the Euro supercars are Grand Tourers? Also how does a GTR stack up against an NSX? Seeing as its suppposed to be Japan's best Supercar.

Also is the GTR even a supercar? I thought the term supercar was given to cars that were abve the 100,000 USD price value, and had radical styling and engineering?

I wanna see a McLaren F1 run that W8 quad turbo bugatti.

I think i've seen a vids of GTR vs NSX along with other Evos, Porsche, Lambo. The NSX kinda finish 2nd last as far as I remember, while GTR is on 2nd position, lost only to the Lambo.

Dun think GTR is a supercar yet as STOCK GTR do 0-100 in around 5sec. Any STOCK supercars I've seen so far do 0-100 in around 3.5 to 4sec. The chasis construction is not really a major engineering design, although it is very rigid for a road car. NSX (forgot what it do for 0-100) is classified as supercar as the price is also abour $250K I think? The monocoque chasis design on NSX is something quite unique too.

Snowman, can answer your question NSX vs GTR, as he has owned both. If I recall correctly, the NSX doesn't come close to his GTR... but I think that had something to do with it being auto... But Snowy's moved up since then and learnt how to drive a manual :(

Seriously, he'd be the best to answer it.

Go piss off and take your dribble elsewhere, no wonder GTR owners in general are branded as wankers with people like you flying the flag.

Read the whole thread before you post irrational generalisations...

and I dont think that I or any other GTR owners in this post sound like wankers..

rianto, yeah I've got that race on DVD its an Option Magazine DVD. Skyline finished 2nd to an RX7 from memory.

Snowman had an NSX? wow that man is into his fast toys inst he? One of my mates in japan has an NSX with the hex throttle body thingy and all the go fast bits, he races on the weekends apparently, very nice car.

Maybe the supercar issue is my fault, by calling the GTR a supercar in the first few posts.

What qualifies a car as a supercar?

I believe the fact that the amount of power and times the gtr puts out from the factory, along with one of the best and sophisticated traction systems in the world and not to mention the gadgets that come stock (r34) make it a supercar in my eyes.

Then again some people claim the GTR is just a $150k Datsun.

I thought the Tommy Kaira ZZ was a supercar.

Mazda Pettit Racing RX-7 Banzai Edition is supposed to be a supercar, but its more of a tuner's edition than anything like the Nismo and TK special editions.

the difference between an exotic car and a supercar is a bit blurry, i reckon to be a supercar the car has to be a factory production version of the leman's 24 hours :( or something similar.

    • I got back to Japan in January and was keen to get back on track as quickly as possible. Europe is god-awful for track accessibility (by comparison), so I picked up a first-gen GT86 in December just to have something I could jump into right away. The Skyline came over in a container this time and landed in early January. It was a bit battered after Europe, though—I refused to do anything beyond essential upkeep while it was over there. The clutch master cylinder gave out, and so did the power steering. I didn’t even bother changing the oil; it was the same stuff that went in just before I left Japan the first time. Naughty. Power steering parts would’ve cost double with shipping and taxes, so knowing I’d be heading back to Japan, I just postponed it and powered through the arm workout. It took a solid three months to get the car back on the road. Registration was a nightmare this time around. There were a bunch of BS fees to navigate, and sourcing parts was a headache. I needed stock seats for shaken, mistakenly blew 34k JPY on some ENR34 seats—which, of course, didn’t fit—then ended up having the car’s technical sheet amended to register it as a two-seater with the Brides. Then there’s the GT86. Amazing car. Does everything I want it to do. Parts are cheap, easy to find, and I don’t care what anyone says—it’s super rewarding to drive. I’ve done a few basic mods: diff ratio, coilovers, discs, pads, seat, etc. It already had a new exhaust manifold and the 180kph limiter removed, so I assume it’s running some kind of map. I’ve just been thrashing it at the track non-stop—mostly Fuji Speedway now, since I need something with higher speed after all that autobahn time. The wheels on the R34 always pissed me off—too big, and it was a nightmare getting tires to fit properly under the arches. So I threw in the towel and bought something that fits better. Looks way cleaner too (at least to me)—less hotboy, less attention-seeking. Still an R34, though. Now for future plans. There are a few things still outstanding with the car. First up, the rear subframe needs an overhaul—that’s priority one. Next, I need to figure out an engine rebuild plan. No timeline yet, but I want to keep it economical—not cutting corners, just not throwing tens of thousands at a mechanic I can barely communicate with. And finally, paint. Plus a bit of tidying up here and there.
    • Nope, needed to clearance under the bar a little with a heat gun, a 1/2" extension as the "clearancer", and big hammer, I was aware of this from the onset, they fit a 2.0 with this intake no problems, but, the 2.5 is around 15mm taller than a 2.0, so "clearancing" was required  It "just" touched when test fitting, now, I have about 10mm of clearance  You cannot see where it was done, and so far, there's no contact when giving it the beans Happy days
    • It's been a while since I've updated this thread. The last year (and some) has been very hectic. In the second-half of 2024 I took the R34 on a trip through Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland - it was f*cking great. I got a little annoyed with the attention the car was getting around Europe and really didn't drive it that much. I could barely work on the car since I was living in an inner-city apartment (with underground parking). During the trip, the car lost power steering in France - split hose - and I ended up driving around 4,000kms with no power steering.  There were a few Nurburgring trips here and there, but in total the R34 amassed just shy of 7,000kms on European roads. Long story short, I broke up with the reason I was transferred to Europe for and requested to be moved back to Japan. The E90, loved it. It was a sunk cost of around EUR 10,000 and I sold it to a friend for EUR 1,500 just to get rid of it quickly. Trust me, moving countries f*cking sucks and I could not be bothered to be as methodical as I was the first time around.
    • I assume clearances were all a-okay?
