I envy how much land you have and your shed 😊

Yeah country life is the bomb!  I paid $152000 for this block 10 years ago....  2800 square metres which is not huge but plenty for me!  The shed is the first thing I built!  Number one requirement of moving back to the country from Melbourne was a decent shed.  Priorities! :)

I'm enjoying these updates! I don't think I'll ever own a pool so I'm living vicariously through your thread.

And that is one super cute puppy!

Didn't think I ever would to be honest!  Can't wait till summer to finally get some enjoyment out of it after slaving away for the last few months and slopping around in mud!  I've destroyed my body in the process (2 X hernias, ankle is rooted, tweaked my back, etc, etc).  I think it was worth it....

Yeah Ollie (dog) is a bloody legend!  Groodles (Golden Retriever / Standard (tall) Poodle) are an awesome breed.  Don't moult fur, awesome demeanour (super affectionate but good guard dog) and due to their super soft coat they're really nice, soft and fluffy dog to pat.  They do need trimming twice a year and need a bath every now and then as because they don't moult they can get a bit gamey!  Awesome with the kids too.  They dress him up and do all sorts of weird shit to him! 🤣  He just lies of the floor and gives them cuddles.  Loves, no DEMANDS a bloody pat, jesus he's a clinger....

Other than that, amazingly loyal, affectionate dog!  We'll get another one soon.

More to do with age than effort I think!

I don't think we are too far apart in age!

However hats off to you sir, I would have just paid someone these days. Heck, I paid someone to put a motor into my car because I CBF.

I'm 45, feeling 65 at the moment....

Unfortunately my Dutchness has not yet eroded to the point where I'm capable of paying any one, to do any thing!

I'm hoping the Dutchness starts to wear off more quickly now!  Says the guy that just ordered the dearest and most difficult exhaust material in the world to weld properly....

I need that shed in my life, all I could fit in my yard was a 6 x 3, it’s nice, but not big enough.
and I got a 22 year old son that’s also into cars, so I got his shit as well as mine.
we just installed billet drive shafts into his turbo BRZ. So tomorrow he can help me get the dash pad out of the GTR

Problem with a big shed is you accumulate a LOT of shit. I keep building add ons to my shed to fit more shit...

Main shed is 14x8m, then I added another 3x8m to the right of it.  Then I built another shed down the side of the house for the mower and garden shit, it's about 4x4m.  Then I built another shed off the back of the main shed for concrete mixer, Kubota tractor, rotary hie, etc and its another 11x2.5m.  I've got a lot of sheds on my place....

Can never have too many however!

Awesome that you can work with your son on cars! Hopefully I trust mine enough one day!

And I am hoping mine isn't into cars! 😅

Ha ha, yeah maybe!  I’d rather my kid be into cars than sucking on the glass BBQ!  As they say, if you’re into cars you don’t have any money left for drugs!

My 12 year old son is only just starting to show a bit of interest in my car recently. He loves it when I bring fast Audis home from work but hadn’t really cared about the GTR till recently. A few years ago I took him for a few (brisk…) rides in an RSQ8 we had on loan from Audi head office and since then he’s hooked on speed!  The good speed….

True, cars cost more than your average glass BBQ setup lol...

As humans, we are all addicted to something!

Probably wouldn't mind if my son is into building robots, etc. however he's only 2.5 lol... A while to go 😂

    • All I'm hearing is sequential swap time. Gives you a shifter, and crisp hard fast shifts. You can even use flappy paddles with them. You just can't give the shifter the side to side shake to make sure you're in neutral
    • HKS2530 frame and a newer CHRA plausible? like a g25-500 CHRA in the hks2530 frame?
    • Welcome back mate ,I also joined in the early 2000's , since then I have been in and out a few times depending if I had a skyline in the garage.  I have the another one now , so signed up and back with the SAU team.
    • I used "different strokes for different folks" quite pointedly as honestly, there is no wrong when it comes to choosing what you like.  I always day dreamed about flappy paddles with fast shifts in a sporty RWD Turbo and to me the sound and feel of it cutting through gears in a steady stream is exciting, engaging, and keeps the car better balanced - I *also* like h-patterns, but I find them more engaging and fun in a nice hoonable peaky NA thing.  Type-R Integra/old school NA rotary, things that are raw and need all the rpm where picking the gear and getting it sky high is part of the engagement of the whole thing despite the fact that they probably need closer ratios and faster shifts even more than a 3l turbo thing haha
    • If I wasn't allowed or really had the desire to visit China it would probably fit in my carry on, but I have no desire, Japan would be nice during Cherry Blossom time though I might need to chat to Jackie about that, that should actually be an easy conversation though as she is currently talking about another cruise, cruise ship to Japan, a week in Japan to see the sights, then cruise home I may even be able to find those OEM NC Recaro seats over there that I cannot find here 🤔
