Ok sorry confused .

I just spoke to Ross himself and it sounds like what I need is basically what Paul has which is the sensor pulley and Hall sensor to suit , in my case , an RB25 . He said all the pulley offsets are std , slightly different PWR steer wise to RB26 , and the Hall sensor mount has to suit the sump pan being used ie RWD steel/4WD/4WD + adapter plate ie 4WD RB30 .

Sensor wheel tooth count . Using 36-2 means that with their electrical converter box you can run (I think) computers looking for the std systems CAS only signals .

I like the idea that you can make a sub loom that splices into the CAS wiring so you can run the crank trigger or just the std CAS output if you ever had to .

The thing I need to confirm is that a Vipec Skyline plug in computer can be made to run the engine either way and then I'm in .

I need Paul or Yavus to confirm this .

That system uses the same honeywell 101 pickup. Havnt designed a substitute for the cas on twin cam rb's yet. They just use the autronic disc in the standard housing. Works very well, and i can tell you, its very well priced

CNC-machined trigger shells will be available on 6-inch and 7-inch Super
Dampers with a 6-rib serpentine option for both. The integrated 24-tooth
reluctor wheel eliminates the need for separate trigger wheels that can come
loose, and offers more accurate readings. These shells can be ordered installed
on a new damper or retrofitted on your current ATI Super Damper.

I'm attempting an aem 24+1 trigger disc swap on my cas and it isn't going well. My cas is all pins and pressed bearings. Nothing like the bolt versions of the vg series cas. I have been reading and it appears as long as you can rig up some way of getting a signal to a sensor for cam or crank angle and duration you can make the rb ignition work. I've read that cam sensor setup on rb is unreliable, but was wondering if the jeep 4.0 flywheel crank sensor setup wouldn't be a sufficient setup. Why and why Not? It runs off of a flattened tooth on the flywheel. (Grinder and a drill) would be able to flatten a tooth for tdc and the sensor would be tapped into the back of the black to read the flywheel correct? Just a thought since this setup is very cheap and easy to come by. Any thoughts?

After constant issues with my CAS over 6500rpm during tuning and road tests I decided to bite the bullet and order the ross kit for my balancer.. Tuner was much happier and the car revs clean to 8000rpm now without coughing and spluttering.. I'm running the 12 tooth chopper wheel on the balancer with the billet CAS bracket and 1 tooth pickup on the cam with gt101 sensors, very happy with the look of the kit and the difference it made.

    • Mixing things up - installed some leather recaros to match the leather seat covered rear seats. Interior looks pretty schmick now except for some slight wear on the steering wheel which I will monitor and address if it becomes worse or actually noticeable!  
    • Didnt realise RB's had more then 1 head.
    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
