Hi I'm new here so hello first of all. I know next to nothing about this so any help is appreciated.

A couple years back my boyfriend bought what he thought was a 1998 Gtst import for $14k from a private sale. We initially thought it was just a regular gtst since it was only 14k so imagine our shock when we went to renew registration for it and they (rta) tell us it was a limited edition 1999 gtt, only 200 made in the world, only 4 in Australia including ours and the other 3 cars were in the system as write offs. From then until now I am still a little skeptical because I can't seem to find any info regarding this particular car anywhere. I will admit I've never seen a faster gtt than this. The only mod we made was the sports exhaust and yet a fully modified ferrari could manage to only beat it by a quarter car length. No joke. The dude who owned the ferrari thought we was full of bs until he popped the bonnet and saw for himself the engine was stock standard.

I always ask myself if this is really a limited edition car, why would the previous owner sell it so cheap to us? Wouldn't it be worth more than that? Did he even know? A quick glance and you'd think it is a 1998 gtst (previous owner put gtr tags on it though) but compliance plates and a detailed inspection say otherwise. Anyway, info about this car would be much appreciated.

Was looking to sell the car but reluctant now because of all this info. HELP!

LOLZ

how about posting some more information on the car would be handy but just so you know there is no such thing as a "limited" R34 GTT

clearly there is only one thing limited here...... :domokun:

Thanks for replies. Will post pics this arvo when I get back home. As i said I know next to nothing abt these cars so apologies for sounding like an uneducated idiot regarding these cars (or any car for that matter). It's because I really am.

Yes my bf would really appreciate the username I picked for him when he sees it :)

No it doesn't have any of those badges 666Dan. What does that mean?

I would make sure to include the stamps and any info of the car, the import compliance plate from japan and australian one as well.

My whole point was to find out exactly what we had before selling it. But it's nice to know some of you are getting a laugh out of this. I suppose my skepticism of this whole thing is somewhat justified according to the responses to my post.

Any feedback is much appreciated so thanks everyone.

loving the "my boyfriend" approach. thats not been used before to ask retarded questions that can be looked up using wikipedia.

but on the 1% chance this is real. bring the pictures we will help.

as you can tell we get a lot of idiots/12 year olds asking dumb shit. the 11ty million sarcastic answers they recieve normally weeds them out.

but im telling you now. theres no farking way a gtt can beat a ferrari in standard form unless its a ferrari dino.

or an mr2 thats got a fezza bodykit on it.

    • Ok guys thank you very much. GCG highflow it is then 🙂
    • forgot to mention that when it does this it does not kill the engine, but I have not kept the pedal down long enough to let it, as I see no reason to beat up on it as its got to be something simple, small and dumb causing this.  And as soon as I let off pedal, the engine returns to its normal super smooth operation and rpms re-stabilize quickly, once below 4k.
    • neither stumble or cut really seem to be an appropriate term....hard to explain its like a rev limiter but at 4k, but it violently shakes engine and entire vehicle as the rpms will not rise over 4k, even with slow acceleration. as soon as it hits 4k, it sounds like entire spark is lost entirely. plugs were 1.1 which I used as such, but later put in new plugs gapped down to .8 changed back after issue arose when I replaced the coils, still does it with either plug gap...damn and it was all running so good.
    • Oh how times have changed! I actually lean it out relative to my water/methanol injector duty cycle. The methanol adds a lot of fueling and you can then lean it out even more due to reduced knock.
    • Yeah my thoughts are the same, a well thought out WMI setup, would be slightly ahead of just straight E85 and you're also chemically intercooling the charged air, dropping it even further. This is why you need to add so much more fuel as soon as you spray. I remember someone taking me through their set up before (Dennis, has a R33, lives around Cabramatta - no idea if he's still around on this forum). He would target AFR 10:1 on 98, then as WMI ramped on, AFR would lean back up to 11:1. Amazingly, he did this all through his PowerFC, a relay to cut power to his EBC solenoid if there was not enough line pressure on his WMI kit. And of course, if there wasn't any boost made above gate pressure, you wouldn't be accessing the load cells with heaps of timing for WMI. One downside to that rudimentary setup, once the WMI came on, the EBC would unleash the dragon, and of course all the timing. Tyres would fry lol.
