Ok, so I've had some more work done to try and eliminate things which might be holding the GTX3067 back:

* Dump pipe changed from split dump to bellmouth

* Actuator changed from 8psi to 18psi

* Replaced cat (which was an older model high flow) with a 100 cell high flow

After the dyno run to check power etc, the sum effect of the above was... zero.

No change in peak power, no improvement in boost threshold.

Tuner said boost control is much better now, and that the dump pipe no longer gets as hot.

His recommendation next is to change out the turn-flow intercooler, but I'd rather look at mods for better response first if anything.

I've tried getting my hands on a 0.63 A/R IWG housing, but have been told no stock in Australia and Garrett is no longer manufacturing. I believe Disco mentioned this before too.

Option now is to source from US, or second hand (annoyed I didn't get the one AngryRB was selling now).

Only US supplier I really know of is ATP turbo. Any other suggestions?

If it were me id be keeping the housing and sending the turbo to FP , turn it into a HTA3073 and dump the turn flow intercooler, ive got the piping from intercooler to throttle for sale, could be done cheap.

Funnily enough I've been thinking about the HTA3073... but not ready to spend on changing turbo's again just yet. I'm actually pretty happy with how it's going at the moment, just it's always been bugging me about what it might be like with the 0.63 housing, which it probably should have had from the beginning.

Will see how I go sourcing a housing first.

What style piping do you have? Goose neck over the cam covers? Or over the radiator shroud?

I would lean towards getting the turbocharger right , I use the same IC and my at the time GTRS on its knees made 271 at the bags . Back then the tuner said boost pressure fell from 17 to 14 indicating that it was choking on the hot side .

A .

The one that goes across the radiator, not the best but works. I've gone the plazmaman plenum.

Maybe hypergear has a suitable housing that could bolt onto your turbo?

Having had the dump remade twice now to suit this Garrett housing, I'd be reluctant to change dump pattern again. I'd still keep the 0.82 housing in case of later upgrades (e.g. to HTA3073).

It sure is, and I tried to buy it through them, but they refunded my order saying they couldn't get any stock.

I absolutely hate it when they don't update their stock when they know they have none....... ass holes!

They didn't realise there wasn't any available until they tried to fill my order. I got the impression they ship direct from Garrett Aus and don't hold stock themselves so they weren't aware there wasn't any stock in the country. He said they'd update their website now they know.

    • Don't step down power supply size, maintain it the whole way. It's how I'd do it. OR, Id have one feed, with one joint that splits out to six smaller gauge wires that go to each coil. I wouldn't add joins like stepping from 12 to 16, at the first two coils, as if you try to continue that fashion, each joint will introduce a voltage drop. In theory, earths should be the same size as power feeds, however in this case the main power needs to be bigger due to the average size current. So the next question is, how much current do these coils actually need?
    • I think Murray is onto it. It's sounding like either it's a soft block, not long enough block, OR if you're chasing waves, you're going in the direction of the waves, instead of across them. Rotate your sanding pattern by 45 degrees is something to try. You said you're going in an X, so now instead, from the same perspective, do a "t" instead.   If you're not able to have the block sit on top of two high points, and not touch the low point between them, you'll never get it flat.
    • Hi, i’m making Vag coil loom for rb25det, can anyone confirm the wire guage i’m using for power supply in diagram is enough for supply not too small for loom? For earth do i need to follow the same procedure or i can use only 16awg wire for all coil and their connecting wire following to the plug?
    • Did you panel beat the dents or have you tried to repair this only using filler?  Is your sanding block soft/flexible and is following the shape of the panel rather then just knocking down the high points?
