course you can, no point in having lots of cars if nobody can go see em!

I just would have thought they'd explain the spectator part a bit better. Website nor JDMST says anything about entry prices or whether its a closed off event or if anyone walking on the yarra can get a look see.

I like the idea though, Auto Salon with fresh air and a view + music + food should be awesome. Wonder if next year theyll get a bigger venue and start getting stalls for parts etc. like with ARC meets.

I remember reading somewhere that it's open to the public so anyone can come and have a look, entry is free for spectators i believe.

Also will it be a night time or day time event?

Daytime, from about 9am (i think) to 5pm finish

Yeah free for spectators, they did mention it somewhere. May have been on the facebook page

Entrant Fee goes towards organisation of the event, hiring the location, permits, advertising, keeps the bogans in "SOFRESH" plated VN Commodores away and stops people doing skids because the event organisers have all the details of the cars and their owners.

They'll be making a profit, which hopefully will all be put towards the next event and improve the scene with higher quality events :)

I'd guess that some of the entry fee is probably being used to bring some of the 'show' cars down from Sydney also.

No doubt these guys are running it like a business and will aim to make a profit. From the little I know about events, its pretty rare they make money on the first time because there are always unexpected costs so maybe they have built a bit more fat into the entry cost than necessary. But I guess if you don't like that then you don't have to enter your car - you can still attend the show on foot for free.

What I would like to see from the though, is some better communication - they're doing a great job of building the hype on social media, but as an entrant I've only received one email, requesting my payment and nothing else. Hopefully they will increase the flow of information closer to the date once things have fallen into place.

On another note - I went down to the location on the weekend, so long as they don't jam the cars too close together, it should be an awesome lay out and lots of foot traffic.

    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid. Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX. But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
    • That's one of the reasons I got that breed, they look weird, the other reasons are they small, they are very vocal, and run around like they are on crack, I didn't want a breed that just sits around, these two are like kids on red cordial My daughter has one, and it's a laugh riot, constantly doing Parkour around the house, sits on her shoulder, plays catch, and constantly runs around the house taking turns chasing the dog around, her Bermese though, just lays around with constant bitch face, and just looks on in utter disgust at the cat and dog playing together
    • I'm getting PTSD flashbacks seeing that name again. With my turbo swift, I got 1,500km of street use on a Jim Berry clutch before it exploded and took out my input shaft with it.
