Ok a bit of progress, if all goes to plan the car will be going up to A&T autos in Toowoomba early next week and receiving a Stage Three (full manual, no more ecu bs) transgo shift kit and a 3000~ stall converter...

I'm just trying to get it ready for this drag day, I have to take it down and chop a certain silver maxima lol

Ok bit of an update, kinda:

*Stage three transgo shift kit has been ordered

*3200 stall to suit my cam has been ordered through the converter shop in brissy

*new tires will be purchased this arvo (only skinny ones as I need them before Monday and no one stocks big ones

*had a talk to Jamie from Forced performance in Toowoomba and confirmed i will be getting a cam package (cam springs pushrods tune) through those guys as soon as the box is finished, ended up going a comp cam 232/234 112lsa lumpy stick and have had the converter built to suit this

*car is booked in for Monday to begin the box overhaul

Also fitted yesterday:

Fitted this afternoon

*new rear tires (just pissy 235s)

*new battery clamp

*new earth cable

*new brake pads

i always thought you were some jerk with a NA skyline,

and then i read this, yes it is a NA but its a LS1 - fair play son

I dont understand how people miss that fact, its written, right there <<<< :P

But yes I wouldn't doubt the fact that I'm still some jerk with an NA skyline (#@t5iv #@Sabbi #@Cadmoon #@olloSKYLINEollo they'll confirm this lol), but yer it's a much more formidable force with the V8 now compared to the old Natro RB.

I'm just glad someone's reading my ramblings

Good luck nick, hope she flys for ya.

Thanks  ... I'm just waiting for the 15th so I can drive it

    • 1.5mm alloy folded up, it will need a tweek, as the angled bend only got to around 45° as that was the max that the break press would get with the other bends, and I needed a fair bit more, but and the alloy is easy to bend too my will by hand once I trim the lower section out I'll Dremel out and form the angle and mounting point on the lower section when time permits  As for the lid, I'm looking at going a "cap", instead of a flat lid to hide the fixtures a bit
    • I got sick of thinking about batteries so just kept buying chargers. I've got a ctek (racecar), a "noco" thing from supercheap (tow car with 2 batteries), and an old "SupaCharge" branded lead acid thing (farm ute/mower) and will need 1 more when the Silvia gets a battery again (if the 86 stays).  I always make sure the charger itself is in free space/away from car etc, just to be sure.
    • The "long nose" diffs in your type of car, that have the speed sensor on the snout, are a pain because the casing is different from all the other short nose diffs. This means that the pinion shaft inside them is longer, which can make it harder to do certain types of diff swaps. But, if all you are going to do it swap the diff centre, and keep the gears (that's the crownwheel and pinion gears) then you won't have any problems.
