hey guys

Anyone seen this car before:

http://www.gatty.net/gtr/

it's a gtst with gtr kit, stock everything, auto

if this used to be your car - or someone you know, or you have spotted it before then let me know.

My mate just brought it, import guy told him fresh into country about a month or so ago....but I think he's full of shit - turbo has now gone in it and no warranty...

I spoke to someone who swore they seen it on Sunny Coast area months ago - justw anted to know if the import dealer is full of shit

FYI: the stickers on the window and side are not where he got it - AJM are ok guys me thinks :O They complied it apparently for this 'importer'

and yes, my mate is a dumb f*ck...lol

am i the only one who thinks maybe you should check the compliance plate under the bonet???

Check the compliance plate it will have the date of compliance on it. I doubt it has been in a yard for 12 months. If it is a new SEVS plate it will be purple in colour the old ones were green. I didn't think AJM was a RAW, in fact I am certain they aren't.

why do people such bullshit cars? especially from dealers?? :D

Ahhhh! i know!

I see it all the time, so what if it has some graphics on the side, ive seen some of the worst examples of skylines at AJM and espesially at IVS.

They are terrible, interior is stuffed, engine looks tired.. they just spice it up and sell for more than a good example goes for. its robbery!

And yet people still buy them

Graphics on side of car from dealer = stay away. Graphics stuck on my car = buy it!! :D

Graphics stuck on side to suck in you impressionable buyer to hide fact turbo is shot, or probably bad scratches/chips underneath. Graphics cost $90, new turbo or paintjob costs big bucks.

I've seen some really bad stuff from dealers, even recently when I went looking for a skyline with my mate.

ok, here's what happened

since you guys 'known' AJM i'll lay it out

i took him for a cruise in my 33 N/A - 2 weeks later he was hooked so wanted one, he went down to brissie. SMS'd me told me he had picked one up cheap, looks sweet but is a auto - i told him to tak the fucer back

Anyway - we get it home and it's running like 1 pound boost, has GTR kit (copy) has some black volk rims as you can see - but closer inspections shows they are ****ED all peeling and shit, Car has had fresh re-spray - but a bodgey job. Sticker son side to add 50kw's :)

I ive him a few races and i blow him away, turbo just laaaags, doesn't boost at all - took it to my other mate who works at a import join on sunny coast 1 weekend when I was down therew for a drive and turbo is shot

So he rings AJM and they said 1 month only warranty, i was like WTF - 3 months i thought...but it's a 94 model so oder cars only get 1 month....

Interior of car is pretty bad, my n/a is immaculate - his has all scratches everywhere and big chunks out of centre console...

worst thing is it's a GTSt with GTR badge :D

i brought my car from http://www.mjrmotorsport.com - my clutch was ****ed when i got it (went 6 weeks later totally) I rnage and they also said too bad, offered to source me a 'cheap' nissan plate - but opted to buy a full Greedy kit - other than that i found MJR to be ok guys....unless you guys know otherwise?

    • Did you panel beat the dents or have you tried to repair this only using filler?  Is your sanding block soft/flexible and is following the shape of the panel rather then just knocking down the high points?
    • I haven't knocked them down yet. I think I made the repair more complex than it should have been. I had rock chips combined with waviness and dents and I tackled it all in one because it was near each other and just end up wasting a bunch of bog lol. I'll knock down those areas and see how I go. And yep what you are saying at the end is correct. I think I might be sanding the top of a steep hill then my sanding block falls into the dent and gets rid of the guidecoat if that makes sense. Though shouldnt unless I'm covering too big of an area with not a long enough block. I'll try something new and provide some updates. Getting there though! Thanks as always.
    • Yeah makes sense, hard to comment on your situation without seeing what your doing. I was talking generally before, I would not be looking to randomly create low spots with a hammer to then have to fill them.  It's hard without seeing what your doing, it sounds like you are using the guide coat to identify low spots, as you're saying the panel is still wavy. I don't see how you're not ending up with patches of guide coat remaining in a wavy panel? Once the high spots are knocked down to the correct level, surely to have a wavy panel you need low spots. And those low spots would have guide coat still in them?
    • So I'll put filler past the repair area a bit to make sure I don't miss anything. Then I'll block it until it's almost level, put the guidecoat, then keep blocking until it's gone. Then it's still wavy.  In regards to hitting the panel, I saw this video might give more context - Skip to 0:47 he knocks it down. But yeah I'm sanding until the guidecoat is gone then checking because otherwise my filler is still well above the bodyline. Unless what you're saying is I should put guidecoat around it early, surrounding the filler then stip once it's gone?
    • I refreshed the OEM injectors with the kit and connected it up. It now ideals okay even with the IACV removed. Driving still has the same cutoff issue like the 550cc injectors so the issue is somewhere else. I bought FPG's Fuel Pump Hanger. I will be installing it next, but it is not as straightforward as I thought it was with my limited wiring knowledge and no instruction on the specific model I purchased (FPG-089). I also got the incorrect billet clamp as I could not find info on the OEM sizing.
