lol neg.

I was being cheeky and emailed to ask if they can provide their DSM Green with a T3 housing ($1,000 turbo), to which they tried to up-sell me an FP30 ($2,000 turbo).

I am really just testing waters and want to know what is out there and at what cost. Obviously wanting to know what can be cross compatible too. I have a couple of things to build soon and am stockpiling thoughts and numbers in prep.

You know you wanna though ;) I recall seeing something that bolts onto a T3 somewhere? ?

LOL you referring to my manifold or that FP have T3 options?

I am pretty happy with the performance and customer service I get from my hypergear, which may lead me to get another one for my next turbo :) We will see.

Definitely a benefit to having local support, at least for you guys haha. They are mostly cheaper, too - but FP ftw if you want the best :) It's handy that FP are pricing to compete with Precision at the moment, too.

Only their custom made stuff though, isn't it? 2K is a fair bit more than the average DCBB Precision, but the FP journal bearing/custom items definitely go for a nice price.

Obviously the price is higher on the FP30 due to the purchase of the Garrett core before they even begin construction.

They have been saying that they will match Precision prices for equivalent Precision DBB turbos on their Facebook page

Any idea what the inducer sizes are for the 73 and 76 HTA wheels?

PT do a 5130 and 5430 which are 56.5mm GT30 cores. If the 51/54mm inducers match it would make a good comparison and price match difference.

HTA GT3071R = 51.2mm

HTA GT3073R = 52.6mm

HTA GT3076R = 54.8mm

:)

And from results we've seen on here, 34GeeTeeTee's HTA GT3076R spools substantially better than and makes more power than a PT5558 which should put some perspective on it

Bit late to the convo, but ive got a jb fp red on my evo 8 and it hits 25psi by 4400rpm or so in 3rd on a stock manifold and not a full 3" tbe. So on a 9 with mivec, cams, aftermarket manifold and decent exhaust it might come in a little earlier. The trade off in spool is pretty minimal compared to a green but if I had my time again id go the green and run a bit more boost to push it to the 330awkw mark on eflex.

Ive got a new exhaust, some gsc s2s and a new manifold to go in soon before a retune with more boost so ill report back and see how it changes the response and overall power if at all.

So what sort of revs does the red really start pulling hard in 2nd and 3rd Mitch? Im still deciding on reds and greens on my car.. Think you have seen my setup yeah? What would you choose in my shoes?

If youre not adverse to boost on a stock bottom end and its mostly street driven id get the green, unless you have plans to stroke to 2.3L later on. They can get into the 300+kw area on e85 with a decent amount of boost.

My red starts to pull pretty hard around 3700 or so in 3rd, but the power is a lot more linear in delivery.

Have you looked into gtpumps turbos at all despite them not being bb?

Oh I don't mind pushing the boost into my motor mate :)

What kinda power did you make and are you on E85? I know the red really needs ethanol to bring it to life. 3700 still doesn't seem laggy. I wonder since that I have mivec a toxic fab manifold M2 cams and a free flowing exhaust how much response id gain including hta and DCBB? Hmmmmm the red may just win me :D

I have looked at GT pumps turbos but to be honest im not really overwhelmed by their products.

Thank god I didn't need to say this first...

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
