Ok guys great day and everyone's excited about the results today. We have smashed our previous record of 1.36.7. First session out dean pulled a 1.33.5 at a top speed of 298.3kmph, unfortunately paul and I rocked up late to record that lap and only have it on the go pro which didn't show the dash, second session out we did record a 1.34.2 and a top speed of 300.7kmph, will post this vid in a day or 2 when paul has worked his magic. The Audi r8 Gt cars were also out testing and there best laps were 1.35 as they too were battling hi winds today, their normal lap times are 1.30ish............so were freakin excited.

Good luck for testing! The thing looks and sounds like an animal in the clip from yesterday, love it - should be intense with the power wound up to 11!

The NZ non-GTR owners also coming over don't count? :(

Lol! Sorry Mr Lith......I should have said Skyline owners! :)

Yesterday's test sessions, there is a good 1-2 seconds left with more time and better conditions. I really want it to break the 1.30 at phillip island but not sure if it can be done without a flat floor. We also had an additional 50rwkw we didn't use, like to play it safe for now. Thinks we might have to use all of it at world time attack. To get under 1.30 at smp... that would be cool but I think 1.31-1.32 would be on it without more test sessions.

Love it! What box is it? You've probably listed it before but love that it's still H pattern! I can't imagine a 300kph brake into turn 1. 250 is fast enough!

Hey Russ, using the ppg dogbox with a Motorsport strain gauge. We couldn't believe it hit 300 and took a couple days to sink in what we have now built. All braking distances have now changed and need more test time to work it out. Car will now have a full maintenance program written out so parts can be replaced to keep it in good running order.

Thanks to all for your support and kind words over the last few months, feel free to come and say hi at wtac. Garage 15A.

Can a skyline finally take back the evo dominance at wtac? We're gonna try our best, and if that's not enough we will turn the boost right up.

Looking forward to turning the boost right up, that will be MAD!!!!

That's good to hear. It's something very often overlooked and these cars are so far above their designed intention of a road car it's so important to check things on a routine/usage schedule.

Good luck this weekend! Hope the 32s can muscle into the tops of the timeslips

Cheers buddy, what a amazing vibe and bunch of peeps that I finally had a chance to meet, some top quality cars too. Had a laugh. Practise day today had little issues such as a fualty oxy sensor and a stuffed coil, had about 10 laps so by the last lap these issues were finally diagnosed and will be fixed in the morning before first session. Deans first time with the car at this track and had to work out the best lines etc, pulled off a 1.34.8 but not a true indication as yet as he hasn't had a full on go, traffic and issues held him up. Although what is apparent is our tein suspension is not good at all at this track, phillip island is flat and it's fine but here it's evident that it's not good enough. Might have to look into mca gear. Can't wait for tomorrow to hopefully lay down some good times. Will keep ya posted guys, cheers.

Another massive day, loving time attack but wish there was more drive time but you get that with so many cars. First session out today and a lap time couldn't be set as a car in front had leaked oil in the track. Second session out dean pulled out a 1.33.0 to take the lead from the evo 10 go pro by 1 second. Top speed on the straight hit 290km/h on the 3rd session out but gearbox issue struck and ended that hot lap. Gearbox is being sorted so we can be back in the morning for an all out attempt. There's about 2 seconds in it as current set up. Have learnt a lot from this event on what's needed to be done to break the 1.30 if attending this track again...first thing is ditch the teins. Big thanks to all that have come past to say hi. Keep ya posted tomorrow.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
