well the surprise was a T51R!
it was almost ready to tune but decided to buy the HKS T51R KAI BB as ive always liked the sound and thought its time to put a single and start having some fun!

So tuner had to take off turbos again and put T51R on, its almost done, taking a little bit longer than I expected but needed to fabricate dump pipe, plumb the screamer into the dump pipe, once finished should be wiring in haltech and ready for a tune.

expecting it be finished real soon.

in other news I have a 4000km old twin turbo setup and some parts as you can see that only ever got bolted on and never used all up for sale :D

more to follow in the next few days

The Car then made its way onto the DYNO where a leak in the inlet manifold gasket was found, so it got replaced with a NITTO Gasket and back on it went.
first was a tune on 98 @ 16psi and made 317kw we left that as the 98 tune as the car was going to be set up with FLEX TUNE and mostly run on E85.
the car then pushed 380kw @ 21.5psi on E85.

It's a little bit laggy compared to the -5s but you can feel the car build the power and the power delivery is amazing! Compared the 2 the t51 comes on boost later but it still has a feelin of torque in the midrange but it's a lot more dinner to drive and it feels a lot better to drive aswell the power delivery between gears are faster than the -5's overall happy with the decision to change. The twin turbo setup felt lazy and sluggish where the big single feels free and open if that makes sense

Cool. always interesting to hear how the car feels vs the dyno considering power and tourque are lower down low...good feedback! Must come on pretty strong!

Good point about performence between gears. I guess the power/torque differential down low isn't an issue between gears because you're in the higher range on shifts so you're net/net higher on both power and torque while you're hammering vs -5s.

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
