Sydney Skyline Night Cruise

Hello all,

After 8 years away from SAU and owning a beloved Skyline, I'm back :)

To celebrate, I'd like to organise a small night cruise. I've met some awesome people through SAU some of which I still keep in contact with today. I'm hoping to meet more skyline fans and hopefully make this more regular.

Remember the rules, no stupid driving, no unnecessary attention and always follow the lead car. This is a cruise, so let's enjoy it. It's always a pleasure watching the publics reaction when they are watching in amazement a whole heap of skylines humming together.

When: 23rd November

Time: Midnight

Place: Fivedock - office works car park, next to shell Fivedock, KFC and McDonalds on parramatta road.

Cruise - city, to William street, through double bay, around vaucluse, come back through Bondi, down oxford street and then back on to parramatta road heading to hungry jacks car park in Croydon (next to Indiana motor cycles and just before the BP)

Lead car: Black R34 - with chrome deep dish wheels

Please reply with confirmation if you are attending.

Thanks,

Assasin

So far, the most I've ever had in a cruise was nearly 65 skylines, that was to wisemans ferry - check out previous cruises and photo galleries :)

This will be a regular thing as I miss the good old cruises. Nothing better than a skyline on the road! :)

The next cruise will be a beach to beach drive, and so much more planned. Stay tuned :)

A copper pulled me over last night just to tell me I had a nice car! Wierd! What happened to all the other skylines? LoL

"Assassin" is my brother and I'll vouch for the big numbers he used to pull in his cruises. I've now owned a 33 for about 6 months and I'm looking forward to reliving the same spirit back then and potentially running my own cruises as soon as my car's complete

Nice drive boys!

Highlight of the night - watching everyone in the city eye googling our cars and shouting "it's a skyline"!

Are we really that rare in number?!

I'm hoping more will join us for the next cruise

An awesome night it was James and Dan. It was great to meet both of you and have a good chat over coffee - Thanks again

Indeed the highlight of the night were the pretty ladies admiring our cars as we rolled past. Such class! I hope we get more numbers for the next one.

Pics by Milan will be up soon

Awesome drive fellas. I miss seeing the awe of other cars when they see us in a group together. Rumor has it that Newport Beach is gonna be bombarded with skylines on the 7th of December ;)

James, you know I'll always be supporting your cruises. Raj, looking forward to seeing you and your spectacular car again. Keep in touch

Obviously, this would have been the case if I was there in my GT-R - because the driver isn't so crash hot

The girls were disappointed when they didnt see the famous "hot asian guy in an N1" they all kept hearing about.

All the more incentive to come to the next cruise, Terry! :)

    • This is the part I was unprepared for. I mean, thinking about it now, the first day I collected my car from the importer someone posted a photo of it on the highway to an online JDM page which my friend then sent me. I drove straight to the office to pick up some things and was immediately swarmed by about ten college kids -  "how much power" "why no wing" etc. The next couple times I went out I didn't really notice anything, there was a "why no wing" at a service area at some point. Then during the fourth time out driving at the Nurburgring I got the "do a drift" - the bastard cut it out in this clip. The title in itself is a red flag. As you may have guessed, I am not a fan of the attention. This leads me to wondering what to do with the car in the future; I'll see how this year goes and it may be garaged, which it mostly is already, or maybe even sent back to Japan  to also be garaged and driven occasionally on visits. Fortunately my daily is as interesting as drying paint.
    • I couldn't get this to work right, New clean IACV, coolant seems to flow and solenoid functions, but again as soon as I plug it in the idle raises, I ran the car for a good 1/2 hour messing around with various things it, no vac leaks. At one point with the IACV plugged in I was able with the adjustment in the side of IACV turned all the way in get it idle down a little to around 1000, but no lower, and it would surge, I unplugged the IACV engine rpms drop to about 350, turned the adjustment about 3 turns in , set idle to around 800 rpms' and it idles smooth. I set the idle stop screw abut the same so it cant drop below under load. the engine starts, restarts, with no load or with a load seems to run fine. I will have to leave it like this for now as I cant get it to function correctly with the IACV plugged in. One other thing I discovered that might be the reason for some of the issues, the engine in the car is a RB25det neo from a Stagea along with the Stagea ECU. so alot of wiring, plumbing etc that is typically there in a R34 is not.
    • Hi all, Trying to seek some assistance with my issue. I'm currently doing a complete overhaul of my suspension / driveline, on my r33 gtr and have completed stripped down the front assembly. I had purchased a new pair of front knuckles (the painted silver ones in the pictured) They were advertised by the shop aswell as other retailers online to be compatible with the entire 4wd R chassis, however when trying to fit the new pair, they don't line up with the ball joints (from the lower control arm) and the steering tie rod.  The other knuckle pictured is what came off the car, everything fits up to it perfectly, however I've been unable to figure what variant they are from originally.
    • What would be the best off set on 18" rims for these settings
