Lol at jones yeah, always talking about rosberg being the better driver

He should really stop talking shit, ay

Imagine how big Hamilton's margin to Nico would be by now if it wasn't for the DNFs

^ thats what i was thinking its 2-2 for retirementes isnt it? ah no hamo has had 3

but.... rosberg did manage his 'failing' car at canada as they had the same issue...

I thought they were 2-2 for mech failures resulting in race retirement. Homo did have the quali issue with his brakes.

Interestingly both retirments of Homos were when he was trailing Nico and Noco's retirmements were when he was leading. So no matter how you look at its its very close between them with Lewis getting the nod at the moment

Rosberg threw away a race result in Monza and simply was out driven by Lewis in the wet. Even with new tyres was not able to match the pace of Lewis so hats off for a good drive. Interesting to see if Homo can keep the race pace advantage to the end

Vettel insisted he was not leaving because he was being outshone by Ricciardo or because of the rough season he had been having.

“That’s obviously the way people look at it, but that’s not the way I see it,” said Vettel.

“We had a very, very good time and I still hope we have a very good five races this year. I’m not leaving because I don’t like the team, I’m not leaving because I don’t like individuals, or I don’t like the situation.

“I’m not running away from anything. But as I said it felt like the right time, the voice inside me, the hunger to do something new, was bigger, even though it’s not the easiest decision, the easiest consequences to deal with.”

Um, you get 25 point for a win. So given he is ten ahead that makes it 35. But then Rosberg would have lost some (7?) so it is 42.

Which just goes to show how much a DNF hurts in the current points system It used to be better when you could drop some rounds off the tally. But it got too confusing for the commentators and everyone else to explain to the great unwashed. So all rounds count and double points for the last round.

Nah they shouldn't. A random dnf shouldn't decide the outcome of the championship. They used to do 9 of 16 then 11 of 16 (from memory and for example) then the lot. Maybe with so many rounds and increased car reliability it isn't so much of an issue but I always thought being able to drop rounds promoted better racing.

Yeah thats a fair argument, that drivers are more willing to go 'all out' if they know they can write the round off if it goes wrong.

But I like having every round count, I think it makes everything a bit fairer, the slightly better drivers should do slightly better if you know what I mean.

Okay- so Hamilton has one extra DNF

Let's assume he'd be at least 17 points ahead if he'd finished first in Melbourne

So we are calling a racing incident a mechanical DNF now? Sorry, Spa doesnt count. Its no different to Germany where Homo crashed into every car on the track during his comeback drive. Only difference this time the team chose to retire the car as he was nowhere. Car didnt break down. And he did the damage to his own car driving like a lunatic back to the pits. Not to say it was right, but in no way should that be counted a mech DNF ... LOL IMHO :)

Yes it should decide the outcome of the championship. That is exactly the point of a championship! It is all about who has performed the best over the course of the championship. It's 100% fair if everyone has to adhere to the rules. That way you will 100% have the person that deserves the championship.

    • I feel like I'm missing something. You had an authorised installer come out and install a new alarm. Post install the car doesn't start, and you aren't getting the installer back to fix what they did wrong?
    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
