i meant dirty broad minded person, bad afternoon,do tell.

I know you meant dirty slart ;) It's the forum profanity filter.

Long story short, installed an oil cooler, thread out of the filter stud under pressure and promptly emptied 5L of 10 tenths in my engine bay in the middle of the main road on a blind corner. Had to tow the bitch backwards back to the old mans and I managed to fix the plate with a different filter and put some shit oil in for now.

Sorry if this is an issue.

Cash on the day is fine. Would be preferred if you brought the exact change.

Hope to see you out there!

sure was, pity the time went by soooo fast, was just getting into it,chopped a few evos as well so alls well in the world again, lol, bring on the north cruise now, that should be good also.Good to see a large turnout, first time that there were more 32s than 33s,finally you guys got your 32s out of the sheds, thought i was going to be the only one again.Whats better than chopping an evo?.Chopping more evos, lol, but seriously great to see all the evo guys turning up and supporting the sau club, let us know when we can run with you guys because chopping is quite addictive, lol,go the SKYLINES. :action-smiley-069: chop, chop, chop

Lol - it was great fun.

Thanks to the execs for making this happen

It was good to have such a great turn out and let's hope we can repeat that next time too.

Big thanx to the evo guys as well, it sure works well to have you there as well

Looking forward to more happy laps

Did anyone have any photos btw - I couldn't take any for once lol

hopefully more sau guys turn up next time, not that the evo guys arent good to run with but we need to represent better,no good having a skyline if you dont drive it,i like the attitude of the evo boys, they will turn up no matter what, would like to run with them at one of there events in the future, always goood to see how the otherside operates.i only wish i could get the car out more often, but am trying to do as many events this year as i can,so i hope you guys dont get sick of seeing me everywhere, lol.

yeah good event guys, alot of fun... few minor hiccups, (my immobiliser crapped itself when enterign the track :( haha) and the intercooler hose, but alls well that ends well.

Seriously though, lakeside for next happy laps?? way better then QR imo

thanks for organising the event guys, and thanks to the evos for coming out and having a run, and a special thankyou to Greg for letitng me borrow your tools; i wouldsta been up the proverbial otherwise.

It was my first run on lakeside but i have to say i really enjoyed the run, would be better if we could get to run longer, thats my only complaint,i like how they dont enforce the speed rule tooo much,i was going a little over the speed limit, all ill say is that the standard speedo runs out pretty fast around lakeside.Like to thanks mike and the team for organising another great morning, and all the guys from sau and evo club for turning up,looking forward to the next one.Are there any other tracks around that we can run on or is it just qr and lakeside?

It's pretty much QR and lakeside for happy laps. Morgan Park raceway runs under the CAMS banner and CAMS will never allow happy laps and Norwell driving centre last i heard was having more issues with noise complaints than Lakeside, i'm not even sure if it's still open.

I might even drive next happy laps... Maybe... Will see ?

Zane is more than welcome to jump in my car again :nyaanyaa:

This unfortunately. We are lucky happy laps are still running as all it will take is a few crashed or a serious injury and the insurance will bo too much for QR to justify without dramatically raising the prices.

    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
