Yeah I know. Ive been looking into suspension lately for my R32 GTR as well.

Im not sure what racepace would charge to modify them.

Ive also spoken to MCA about their gold series. Looking at close to $7000 delivered!!

I have also been looking out for some Nismo Type R, there has been a set for sale for a while on yahoo auctions, probably because the buy price is around $4400.

Or the other option I have been trying to track down is Ohlins Flag R, but cant seem to find them anywhere.

So I would also be interested to see what has to be said here if anyone else has any input.

Oh lines flag R's and the Nismo's are basically the same shock painted in grey and red. They're not very forgiving on the street.

If you want to get the Ohlins new, Greenline do them, well they did last time I looked.

The Racepace modified Teins are awesome. Having been in Nismoid's car when he had them in there, Definately worth considering.

Ill also give racepace a call and see what they recommend with their teins.

I just had a look at Greenline and the Ohlins Flag R are about the same price as the MCA coilovers by the time they get to my doorstep.

Are there any other canister type shocks on the market? Would the MCA shocks require modification like the tein circuit masters?

EDIT: Found these on Yahoo Auctions: http://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/171373687

Is that a good price? Can Racepace modify those also?

Can I ask why you want remote reservoir shocks? The quality of the shock valving matters more than a cheaper shock running external reservoirs. Typically with external reservoir shocks you are getting features such as separate high speed, low speed bump and rebound adjustment etc rather than just a single dial to do everything. Its more those sorts of features then simply a bit of extra fluid volume that make them kick ass...provided you have a clue on what your car really needs in teh way of separate bump and rebound adjustment

ive also ordered a set of reds for my street car will post results when they get here

I was looking at ordering a set of reds for a 32 GTR also, it's not on their list of available products however?

They have only recently become available i believe.

Street to track were doing a group buy on here not too long ago on blue and red series.

I asked about their gold series, but they declined to offer in the group buy as they are completely custom jobbies.

Have just ordered a set of the reds front 10 rear 5 will post back on the results once there fitted.

Jebuz - who recommended 10 and 5? I would assume that going to be a whole new world of understeer....(assuming you're talking spring rate in kg/mm)

What MCA recommended for a street/ occasional track day set up. No a massive or expensive job to change the springs if i find them too soft but thought i'd just go with what they recommend first and change from there.

Agreed tho are a little unusual spring rates

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
