Cheers man. Yeah I think there are 3 other Skylines but all 34s. That's it man, get out there have some fun and make some mates who share the same interest. You should do the no limits event mid October mate, I will definitely be keen on that one. Hope you you sort out the pump soon.

Cheers

Amir

Where did you get the bungs to cover the holes in the floor?

Bunnings mate, in the plumbing section. They are called basin covers or basin plugs or something like that. Measure the hole to be covered and get a suitable size.

First track day was on Thursday, great fun. Minor work on the car this weekend, mounted and plumbed the oil catch can, little hole cut out and air pipe installed to help keep temps a bit cooler under bonnet till I get some header wrap and pod enclosure etc sorted.

Next thing I want to sort out are camber arms for front and rear. We'll see what happens.

Cheers

Amir

Looks like fun, how was the track day? :D

The track days were good. It was my first time on Barbagello so I was learning the track but it was great fun. Sunday was not the best, it started raining after I had one dry run. Then I did 2 wet runs but the track got too dangerous and one person crashed so they cut the day short. But all in all its been good.

Did a little work on the interior today. Removed the remaining sound deadening, cleaned up and started painting. Now this is not going to be as neat a paint job as some other builds, but its simply to neaten up the interior a bit and make it better than before. Now for some up side down terrible phone pictures. Enjoy

Ac ouple of minor things done this weekend. Wrapped the cross over pipe and stock hot site of the intercooler piping with header wrap. The stuff is quite good. There is a notable difference in the temperature. After taking it for a drive, the engine bay is no where as hot as it used to be. May also do the rest of the piping today.

Also installed a little tow strap because the location of the stock one is obscene. Butchered the bumper a bit but oh well.

Next on the list are the brakes. I ordered new pads (QFM A1RM) and still waiting on my sister to order rotors for me. Yes, she is my parts guy. After that I think I will do some performance mods - thinking of upgrading ECU to Nistune.

Untill then....

Cheers

Gave the car a quick service this weekend and bought and mounted this seat. It really changes the driving experience (for the better of course) but is a bit of a pain to get in and out of.

Next on the list are suspension and nistune.

Nice seat. Comfy? Would love to get something like this but daily doesn't seem like the greatest idea.

If you are going to buy a non-airbag wheel you could get the quick release that folds up out of the way, making it easier to get in :)

Cheers Owen. The seat is quite comfy, the only issue is getting in and out of it as the sides are quite high. But otherwise its great and really improves the driving experience.

I am thinking of getting a new steering wheel and boss kit and also considering the quick release idea. Do those work on airbag and hicas models?

Not much of an update. Gear box oil change today. Absolute pain in the ass. Had to use a massive extension on a braker bar as the retard who did this before me was just shy of welding the filler and drain plugs to the box. Worked in the end. Might do diff tomorrow

Also, these are my current allignment specs on stock suspension components. Should get some better numbers when I sort out arms etc

For the few who are following here is an update - and one I wish I wasn't making. Bought a set of second hand coilovers off a forum member. Aragosta is supposed to be a decent brand with some decent damping adjustment etc so I thought why not. I installed the rears and all seems to be ok. Great, I thought, the front will go on next, I drive around and do some adjustments as I go. How wrong I was.

First, the studs that mount the coilovers into the strut tower were rooted so I could not get any nuts to fit on. Only option was to get rid of them and replace with new studs or bolts. Advice from people at Bunnings = useless. Advice from people at Auto one = useless. So I got pissed off and left it till the next day. I woke up and thought to myself these studs are not going to break my will so out came the grinder. I chopped half of them off, hammered them down and finished the rest with a punch. Great success on 3 out of 4 studs. The last stud somehow welded itself to the top mount after all the heat from grinding and bashing it. Got the drill out. No go. New drill bit, no go. Small drill bit and work my way to bigger ones also no go. I grabbed the coilover, threw it in the bin and told it to go to hell. Brother in law manages to talk some sense into me and we keep trying. Horse (a mate) comes over and smashes the crap out of it and the stud comes out. Great success once again? No, not by a long shot. Looking at the coilover I notice it is bent. I pick it up and inspect closer, yep definitely bent. So now Im waiting for a mate to pick it up and take it to a suspension place to see if it can be salvaged. Looks like im going to have to revert back to the old set up for the 29th. Not what I wanted to do at all.

    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo 😄     EDIT: https://www.cj-motor.com/gcg-turbo-charger-for-nissan-rb20det-rb25det-high?srsltid=AfmBOooVeOZ6CZ6r1AIv5m-KPaa6BvudIPJTY8LW78khkd-gQlsaCht9 I looked at this and it seems ok? It is that CGC hybrid and it costs around 1250 USD (with back shipping). Do any of you have experience with this hybrid on NEO turbo? I quickly look thru the forum/web and it seems very good.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
