Hi All,

After some advice.

I am upgrading... Looking at buying an Audi S4 2000-2001.

Can't really sell it privately as I need a car. So looking to trade it in.

The question is, should I trade it in as a stock car??? (take all my mods off and sell them seperately).

I would have thought a dealer like Audi would not want to trade in a Skyline with mod's..

Example of Mods:

GTR rims

Full exhaust

FMIC

Pod filter with CAI

Boost gauge and bleed valve

Power Fc

Oil air seperator

Adj Whiteline sway bars front and back

Slotted Rotors

Strut Brace

Also,

I am trying to work budget out etc.. any Ideas what an R33 Gts-t Series 2 with 65k's on the clock (hmm), in very good condition and no accidents would be worth as a trade in?

From looking at cars for sale they are going from anywhere between $24K to 29K.

Best regards

Damn Rob, letting her go eh?

S4 is a nice choice, get some rims on that sucker and slam it

Trade in by reputation will get you nowhere near the cars true value, so if you feel you can be without a car after the sale then you will be sacrificing $$. Thats the bottom line.

Whats an S4 worth thesedays?

Yeah...

It's been a fantastic car and all.. Just want something newer.

Going for around $70K

As for simple mods... thats all you need (worth the price).

For example, a new chip ($1800) will increase power from 265 hp to 320hp and tourque from 400 nm to 490 nm.. (17% & 26% increase)...

Rob

there is an rs4 for sale at the moment i think its going for about $100k.

i would strip the line back to stock but you wont get much for it , an audi dealer wouldn't want it they are just going to wholesale it !!!

its probably best for you to try and sell it privatly , good luck with it though .

Damn, trading in import cars to Aus Delivered car sales stores is very hard.

They say how the import market is currently not that great, that imports are hard to move then finally say they will give you like $5k for your line (maybe $10k)

I think putting it in Trading Post would be your best bet, find some enthusiastic P-Plater or guy going through a mid life crisis to buy it, just like I did a few months ago (the earlier) lol

Um, no :uhh:

Sure, you get reamed on trade in value, this is how its always been. But claiming that Robo could potentially only get $5k is just a load of garbage.

there is enough "fat" in the Audi S4 so to speak so they will work you a deal and make it look like you are getting a better deal than you are (e.g saying they are giving you $20000 trade in for your R33 and making up the cost in other areas)

Hi All,

As it turns out, selling my R33 privately........

Dealer did not want to trade in the Skyline, would have been too hard for the Audi dealer to on sell..

I am going to sell some of the mods seperatley (or with the car, which ever comes first).

Birnie,

If you like I will be more than happy to sell you the gear...

Best regards

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
