Lol...but they cant do as good a job. Combination of money and technical resources....the limited opportunity to develop, test and implement due to testing restrictions and homologation of parts etc.

No doubt Mercedes gave done a good job. If they were miles ahead in an area of the car other teams could develop like aero or composite materials/weight...wheel or brake rech etc ..then get lifting boys.

But the engine freeze sinks that as an option.

They get a bandaid and have to develop an engine they only get 4 of for the season....its BS

If a team that were nowhere last year is now passing the Mercedes works cars up the straights, I think the others just need to lift their game. Clearly, it is possible to develop a winning engine, even if you had one of the slowest engines last year... Williams have just been stagnant by the looks of it, and if you do that you go backwards. The other big players have actually gone backwards witht htier development.

Clearly RedBull has bigger issues than just the engine when the budget STR's with rookie drivers are giving the big team a touch up on the track with the same donk! Renault were right.

Great to see Ferrari taking the fight to Mercedes! And also great to hear Hamilton sooking on the radio again hehe I might fkn have to get Fox.. Those commentators were hopeless though - are they Fox or Sky? What happened to Brundle? Coulthard is a hopeless commentator by comparison. But he's miles better than the other joker. No technical insights. No discussion of strategy that might be unfolding. Maybe the highlights package missed some of that. but it seemed they were simply describing what they see on the screens in front of them. And not very well most of the time either. They clearly don't know how the stewards judge incidents.

Have to agree. Watching the sky coverage on foxtel uninteruppted is well worth it, but I did already have foxtel.

Only problem I have nowis there are no add breaks to quickly run and do something if I need to, but I do have foxtel IQ so can pause. Minor issues lol

I discovered last night I hat Homo more than Vettel...and actually was rather happy for Vettel.

Loved hearing Homo sook on the radio...Skysports jump on Rosberg everytime he talks on the radio

I hate rosberg more than hamo, and hamo more than vettel. I stopped hating vettel last year.

Felt bad for alonso. Having to retire from a points scoring position.

The rbr cars really have some problems, and the engine definitely isn't it. Sure it isn't helping things getting down on power, but even if they had the power they wouldn't be able to get it to the ground anyway. They can't go, they can't stop and they can't turn. All the things they used to have sorted are out the arse with the new rules

Let's not forget RBR also lost their 2 lead aerodynamicists at the end of 2013 to Honduh McLaren. Last years Red Bull would have basically been designed by him and was good apart from the engine, but not this year's... And coincidentally, by all accounts this year's McLaren is pretty good in the corners...

Sport package is only $50 a month anyway, $10 extra if you want it in HD...

yeah that's one of the things that really shits me about pay TV. If I'm paying for TV in the first place, it should damn well be HD! Not an extra $120 a year on top!

Did Newey play any part in this years car? I know he is focusing elsewhere but cant remember when that all happened.

Youd think this years Red Bull would just be an evolution of last years but seems like they have tried to re-design more than they should have. Both drivers complain about stability, dont recall it being a problem last year

Update on jules.

Philippe Bianchi, father of Jules, confided to Nice-Matin on saturday's print to update the people who keep showing support for the former Marussia driver and his family during this difficult time. Being first cared for in Japan, Jules Bianchi was brought back to Nice, France, at the Saint Roch hospital. Phillipe Bianchi reveals today that he no longer is there, however Jules remains in Nice.

Jules' father re-affirms that his son is fighting, but that he is still in a coma: "From a medical point of view, he is stable. He's autonomous enough. No physical problems. All his organs are working properly, without assistance. But, for now, he remains unconscious, in a coma."

However, there are signs of improvement. In Japan, the young Frenchman's parents received very bad news, without hope. Since, things have changed, and in France doctors are more positive. But we have to be patient, and Philippe Bianchi explains that "neurologically, doctors explained to us that there is no particular intervention needed".

The family can only wait and support Jules in his fight. There are at times encouraging signs: "From time to time, at his bedside, we see that things are happening. At moments, he is more active, he moves more, his hands tightens around ours... But is it just reflexes or a genuine reaction? Hard to tell."

Philippe Bianchi doesn't forget all of Jules' friends, his colleagues, but also the supporters all around the world, who keep sending messages of support, and he wishes to thank them, adding that he will give news of Jules' health when something changes.

    • For these last 7 years of ownership, I've always had to use a small scissor jack under one of the front tow hooks to raise the front just enough so my low-profile jack fits under to reach my subframe jack point. I'm beginning to get annoyed of always having to do this. Are there any lower low-profile jacks that fit under the gtr lip on a dropped car?
    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
    • Here's an idea, answer the questions I asked you as they are trying to work out WHY the LSD will be binding up in a straight line.
