I dont mind getting it from JHC or JOC and paying the fee however the owner has had the car for nearly 10 years now, is it really necessary for the report?

always..... up to you though.

I own one of roughly 60 ev1 34r's :) it's one of the rarer colors in the bnr34 range.

I specifically only wanted one in yellow and it took me a few months to find one, they rarely come up on the auctions in the Japan. Resale wise they wouldn't be any worse, I haven't seen this Colour hurting resale/residual value of the car..

iirc "GTR 34A" was a low km car only a few years ago, so it's piled on the km's' in a relatively short time frame

Apologies, misread and thought gtr34a was the car in question.

My only gripe with ev1 is the engine bay. Because it's just a flat base coat with no clear, years of grime and pollution stick to it and it just looks ugly!

To the general public, it's definately a color that stands out

The car in question is a Vspec though. Owner took me for a spin and it was quite responsive. Engine bay and interior was so clean. the inside smelt like that weird fresh jap import smell still. lol

How can i add photos?

With the car having been here for 10 years the report may not be available. Cause I thought I read somewhere it wasn't until 2007 that Japan started keeping records

In saying that, how would you determine the cars authenticity?

Is it going to be a problem if it cannot be substantiated? (in the long run)

The car has done roughly 110-115k on the clock, owner advise its genuine ks

Personally I wouldn't consider it.

Too bright for my liking and it's some what of an acquired taste...

Ultimately I like White / Pearl White / Millennium Jade / Bayside Blue / Black.

Ive been searching for a mnpIII, bsb or yellow (in preference order) 34R for quite sometime now.....I guess yellow won the race.:smile::smile:

You could always import one.

Evidently there was a yellow one that was recently auctioned and listed on prestigemotorsports website.

http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/stock/show_car.php?id=3526

Non vspec sold for 52k with 125k on clock.

Cant complain with the price of the yellow R im dealing with. its a v spec too.

I had a yellow & black SLR5000. I love the yellow.

There was a yellow one for sale about 5 years ago i looked at which was nearly written off. Needed a fair bit of work.

requested auction and dereg papers from jhc. apparently the auction sheet could not be located. response below:

Thanks for ordering a check with us. We've performed some preliminary checks and suspect that the car may have left Japan too long ago for our auction sheet check to work. We'll go ahead in procuring a registration certificate and let you know how we go. We'll be in touch by the end of the week.

I have a BSB R34 & I hate yellow cars.

But I would definitely consider this one. I think you'd get more attention in a yellow bnr34 then a blue one.

"But bro, why did you respray it?!"

The car in question has not been resprayed.

If I get it, I'll swap you for your bsb r? Lol

    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
    • Sounds good, we will aim to be there! @The Bogan I'll give you a shout if you are heading up to campbelltown for the meet too.
    • Before I get to the test day, just to finish off the android head unit. This is a demo from car start up....the standard/host system takes a few seconds to boot (same as all v37) but Android comes up quickly. In this vid I'm using the delivered launcher but have set the default to Agami since which is easier to navigate when if use primarily 5 apps. You can see the host system still takes over when required eg putting it in reverse, and you can switch between Android and not by holding the back button 3 sec. It is pretty responsive (fast) but you can see I had to press harder than expected a couple of times.  I still have the phone connected to the stock system, and that also seamlessly takes over Android music playing. v37-android-demo.mp4 The bigger reason that I put this in though is so that I can use Ecutek directly on the head unit. That gives me a dash with logging (up to 20MB only), high and low value warnings on any parameter etc etc. I've run a USB cable from the Ecutek OBD dongle to a USB input on the unit, easy. v37-ecutek-demo.mp4   The unit did freeze on the launcher the other day, I think Agami was trying to verify the license when it didn't have a data connection...will monitor and report back if there are any other problems but so far I'm very happy with the upgrade.
    • Nah that is just crappy GPS mapping, I did have a small excursion (cold tyres, damp track, surprise!), will post up that when I get a chance.
