They all do something. Not everything you put on a car has to be for power gains.

Yeah, but they usually don't even do anything else very much. Need lightness? Can get it elsewhere at lower prices. Need bling, ditto. Need stronger? As above. etc etc etc.

Most Nismo stuff is of little benefit. The few things that are actually top notch products are known to come from 3rd party manufacturers and have just been intelligently/properly selected by Nismo.

So what does a nismo key do that the factory Nissan key can't do?

Makes you $1600 if you bought one back in the day. (and more in the future!)

It's all part of owning a car. People want the rare parts for them. It's been like that since people started bloody collecting the things.

Find me a better looking strut brace than the original TI R34 one.

Can't argue LMgt4's are one of the nicest wheels you can get for dielines

The nismo floor mats are great quality.

The full nismo suspension setup when you get it all together works beautifully (albeit a little bit pricey)

The R32 Nismo interior looks fantastic and completely updates the look of a 25 year old car whilst keeping Nissan items.

The diffs are fantastic

The clutches are fantastic

The intercoolers are fantastic

In fact i have never seen a nismo item that hasn't been of quality.

Honestly to bag something out because it costs more than something else is just stupid. It's life.

You don't see people going "haha you bought a Porsche, you can get a much faster car for cheaper"

You don't look at a house that is worth 2+ mil and go "haha you bought a 4 bedroom house for 2 mil, you can get one for 500k idiot"

Again. Not everything is about increasing your time around wakefield. Some people just want to methodically go over every part of their car, and replace with the best part they see fit.

Money sometimes isn't an issue.

Everyone should ask themselves why everything they buy for there car needs to have a power gain when 1 or 2% of us in here have never been in a professionally organised race?

It's usually because the average Joe blogs only knows one question "how much powers it make" my reply "who gives a f**k" it drives good, looks good & sounds good.

That makes more sense for a street car imo.

Um, the Nismo suspension arms are not different from OEM ones, except in length. Nismo floor mats ARE great quality. The sad thing is, you can get exactly the same quality for ~30% of the price elsewhere, just without the fanboi logo on it. The intercoolers are the same as other top notch intercoolers, and still cost more, again because of the brand.

As to appearance of strut braces.....man, if there is one application where form over function trumps all it is bloody strut braces. Particularly on Skylines where the addition of a strut brace does about 20% of what it does on a Mac strut car. If you want to choose a strut brace because it looks better than another one, and neither of them DO very much at all, you have problems.

It's not about money, it's about value for money and nismo doesn't have that at all, as Piggaz stated ikea is the same price, is of better quality and has more adjustability,

Nismo intercooler is an arc cooler with nismo painted on it and bigger price tag

Nismo clutch is a valeo clutch with nismo stamped on it

Nismo floor mats are poor quaility compared to the factory Nissan items

Yeah can argue it all you like, the value for money is not there and you can get exactly the same part for less money, just in a different box

Why? What's wrong with that at all? What's wrong with someone wanting to make their car look nice?

Ever thought some people *Might* (and this may be hard to accept) like these cars as a collectors item over a track pig? And being a collectors item, people want the parts to match.

Just because you don't think they suit what you want doesn't make them shit.

Value for money/money same shit different smell.

I don't see "value for money" in spending thousands getting my car up to 600+KW for the hell of it. But i don't tell people their car is a piece of shit because of it.

SO i say again, just because it doesn't suit what you want doesn't make it bad.

Fun fact: everyones tastes are different.

And the fact second hand rare nismo gear goes for the price it does dictates that they are indeed wanted items.

im a massive believer in value for money and nismo doesn't have it. I'm not building a no expense spared 600kw monster, I'm building a 500hp street car that only has parts that make a difference and they purchase price of the car plus the modifications are still less then it's current insured value

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
