LOL...if they are issues, then certainly get them sorted before blasting around the circuit, if its because they are std...thendont worry, std is fine...just get out there and give it a blast.

Any chance of a Fri or Sat night dinner to catch up with SAU-SA folk

just gotta replace tie rod ends, lock hicas, replace rear cradle bushes, get rear camber kit, then it'll be all ready to go :D

im sure we can organise something :( the last cruise we had, the idea of a track day was mentioned and there was a lot of interest. anyone else keen on the track day?

Is it best to sort accom near the track or in Adelaide, as the soone ri boot accomn around Nth Adelaide the cheaper we get it. I guess its a 2-3 hr drive to the track, may leave mega early Sat morning and go straight to the track, that way Sat night will be cheap as well because two beers and i will be out cold

At the minute a token Skyline is driving over from vic to do a Practice day at Mallala.

Its basically an open day at the circuit for ppl to drive their cars.

From their website ...

Cars and bikes Practice Days - start time 10.30 a.m. - gates open at 10 a.m.

- 15 minute sessions are run for each category with 5 sessions per day

- Motorcycles – fast

- Motorcycles – slow

- Closed cars

- Open cars

The day finishes with the final session at 4 p.m. or 4.30 p.m. The cost per day is $70.00 for cars(these charges include GST)

Drivers of cars need a hemet, and clothing (not synthetic) that is full length leg and sleeve coverage.

This is different to Drift Practice Days, and at most tracks its kinda frowned upon going sideways everywhere smoking up your tyres when their are cars around you that are "race cars" looking to do setup work etc.

I have never been to one of the Mallala ones before, but they are a practice day for the full circuit and usually provide a great opportunity to get out and have some fun.

if your all not too scared of a little high speed drift, come down the Adelaide International Raceway on the 11th September opens at 10 (i think)

there using the d-nats layout so you hit the esses's in 4th gear so its pretty quick sliding

they are also opening up the back of the bowl so drifting onto the drag strip will be allowed..

gonna be an awsome day.. im already getting tyres sorted so if your all keen get crackin on tyres as AIR has a tendency to rip tyres to pieces in less than 2 laps

should be fun

i'd definitely be keen on a track day! As long as the cars on the road!

I wouldnt mind getting together with some sau-vic boys and having a get together/drink/eat session. keen?

Well at the moment it seems there is only me, and the possibility of the SAU-Vic Trackday cheer leader Bec. When i see them ill be working on the others too... and a session constitutes a good 12 hours on the drink :D

Pass....there is a day at Winton that weekend...plus i think your mad to drift your daily driver, but daily drivers are fine for circuit work...well in my eyes anyway. :D

So Mallala is like Calder where they only open a few corners for drifting?

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
