R34 GT Non-Turbo, 4 Door.

I'm thinking about importing one. What do you guys think about it? I'm 17 at the moment, but I'll be 18 in a month, and I'll probably get a bomb til I get the money together, but it'll cost me max about $20,000 landed. The Non-Turbo helps me with the insurance and so on til I'm 21 or so and can afford it, and a 4 door is more practical for my needs. Anyway, just wanted to see what you all thought about the idea.

i've heard many on this forum say that the $difference between insurance costs for turbo skyline and na skyline are very small. they might not like the sound of 1998 either. but, get a quote from justcars etc and report back 13 13 26 for justcars.

That was the page that started this... I sent an email to Geoff about it, as I don't have anywhere near what I'll need, and he's put me on the R34 Skyline list for a 7 day trial, to see the examples of what they get at auction. Can't wait til tomorrow, I'll have a lot of cars to look at. I'll give Justcars a call, and see what I can find out. Thanks heaps

I emailed him in regards to how often they get cars of this model and quality, and the avg price that they cost, landed, so that I can organise the money and so on. He's been very helpful about it, and I can't thank him enough for it.

Damn the year - why didn't Nissan make them earlier?

I've pretty much set my sights on this though, and I may talk to 666Dan about the bolt-on turbo option, as this IS an RB25DE, so I should have quite some fun with it.

one of my mates bought a 4 door R32 made in 1989 (Bought it before the new rules so he imported it a month n a bit ago). Car cost him $1.50 to buy (no shit) coz it had an RB20E engine. It was an R32 GTE. All up at the end of it, it cost him $4800 to bring into the country.

it does happen.....100 yen for a car... it would have cost the owner 5- 10,000 yen to dispose of other wise ...the car is scrap .as far as the japs are concerned worthless...and if you have ever driven one(na32) you`ll agree

lol.. about as great to them as probably a 1983 2L camira is to us.. I've seen give away prices. I mean here you can buy an old car for like $300 or even have to pay somebody to tow it away as it takes up space.

anyhow, sad to hear angelus.. but you could always get an old r31 and mack that up.. one day they'll be cool i swear.. go alright.. can keep up with stock r32 fine, go rev rev, broom broom.. you can spin one wheel really cool and annoy the population pulling out of places. you can turbo it and beat r32.. parts are cheap.. its still a skyline (yes the lowliest of skylines, but it has many of the skyline qualities).

I'm still thinking about it...I'll look around a bit more, do some more homework...maybe other people could help me out by giving me some estimates of what they paid for insurance back when they were 18 and paying for an R34. I checked the Insurance thread, but I'm still not sure...The R34 is my ultimate gorgeous car, and I'll get one one way or another.
