this Zaino kit pretty much sums up how I feel about high-end car care. every product requires a different type of cloth to rub off.

Contents are:

Z7 Wash Shampoo
Z18 Clay
Z6 Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer
Z-AIO Paint Cleanser Polish
Z2Pro Sealant
ZFX Curing Agent
Z8 Grand Finale Spray

Z9 Leather Cleaner
Z10 Leather Conditioner

Aquatouch Wash Mitt
Aquatouch Ultra Drying Cloth
Aquatouch Super Soft Gold towel to buff off clay lube residue
Aquatouch Edgeless Polish towel to buff off Z-AIO residue
Aquatouch Super Soft Purple towel to buff off Z2pro residue
Aquatouch Ultra Soft Grey Towel x 2, one for Z6 and one for Z8 buffing
Aquatouch Microfibre Applicators x 2 to apply Z-AIO
Foam Applicator to apply Z2Pro

Aquatouch Microfibre Applicators x 2, one for Z9, one for Z10
Aquatouch GP Blue towel to remove Z9 residue
Aquatouch GP Green towel to even out Z10 application if require

Don't need to use all of their products. I only use the Z-CS. Apart from that everything else is meguiars.

I used a massive pack of microfibre towels from costco that i literally throw out after 1 use for most of my cleaning. Zaino is the only exception. But i put the pads in a zip lock bag and use for a few uses and then throw out.

for the steps i stated:

1 or maybe 2 fibre cloths to buff the wax

1 application pad for the zaino wax

1 chamois

2 sponges, 1 for body and 1 for wheels

1 MF cloth to help remove the clay bar residue if need be.

That bag of MF cloths is like $15 from Costco and it lasts me a year....

Don't fall for all of the advertising. Now don't get me wrong i have like over $1000 worth of cleaning products. Including detailing brushes and all sorts of things. But you can literally go:

Bag of MF cloths: $20 odd

Sponge: $13

Wax: $60

Clay kit: $35

Car wash: $25

Zaino Z-CS: $60

Applicator pad: $10

So total: $223 and that will last you farken ages.

And if you really want to get into it you can get more. But that stuff will make the outside looks a million bucks. The only thing i would recommend on top of that is Meguiars Trim detailer and Scratch x 2.0 if you have little scratches.

You see swirl marks because you have damaged the clear coat in some way. Using a clay bar does not remove swirls.

Your paint will fade before you buff all the clear off of it.

Also nxt gen wax is an abrasive wax. So yes you are slowly destroying your paint aswell.

Costco towels tend to lose their softness and leave a lot of lint after being washed a couple of times. Good for general purpose use but I use better quality towels for wax removal. My Meguairs cloths that are still going strong, probably around 10 years old now

Some good advice in this thread.
Wheres the best place to get this zaino Z-CS from?

And yeah the microfibres from costco are a bargain.

You can get it from waxit for about $60 delivered.

I clayed the car and used the zaino Z-CS followed by carnauba wax the day after. The car came out pretty nicely, has a few swirl marks though which i didnt bother trying to buff. The zaino is easy to apply and i only used about 10 sprays for the whole car.d9cdd9d89d3a644e9173b51426733781.jpg
Not the best pic, should have taken one with better lighting

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
